or a young athletic corner outfielder.

lol

Just tuned in - Francessa does look calmer than that I thought, but it's almost an hour into the show :D

But implies that Yankees are a bunch of "pretty boys" while Sox have "gritty, dirty, ugly" players - "throwback" players like Youks and Pedroia. Ouch!

It's like he totally skipped over the anger/denial step and he is already moved on to acceptance.

I feel depressed just listening to him, and I'm not even a Yanks fan.

I know it's been mentioned in the game threads and elsewhere, but still - reading these posts just highlights how the entire Yankees-Red Sox dynamic has been turned 180 degrees since '04.

McCarver is an idiot but I think he meant it isn't so clear cut that he would bet against the Yankees.

Girardi on now, discussing the struggles with RISP...

Francessa: Do you want to give Boston pitching credit?
Girardi: No.

Hope you're the manager for the next 10 years.

And he threw Milk Dud under the bus by saying that he bunted on his own.

Man, I really hope he never gets fired. This has the makings of a disaster of epic proportions.

Where it rains. No, seriously.
Girardi on:

JG:

Should have won 2 games

Good to be 2 games out after losing 8 to Boston

MF:

Only so many testing games to see if you are elite - not elite Yankee team, not beating good teams

JG:

Should have won 2 games

Don't make too much out of 3 games

MF:

What were you thinking in the 8th?

JG:

Get through Drew

Would have gone to Mo with 2 outs after Drew

MF:

Mo vs. Youkilis? Why not Mo for 8th and someone else for 9th?

JG:

Would have been hard to just pitch Mo for 8th.

MF:

You were the culprit for setting up the rotation this way. Did you screw up?

JG:

No. Not worried about Wang in Fenway, good out of bullpen. Can't change opinion.

MF:

Would you do it again?

JG:

Yes.

MF:

No issues with strategy in 8th. Just a tough spot. Night before, down a run, gave up an out in bunting. Why?

JG:

Melky did it on his own. Made sure the sign was off.

MF:

Gardner's throw made you grimace.

JG:

Awful bad series.

MF:

Have to be disappointed with Burnett.

JG:

Not about excuses, but he is always better in second half. Gotta get him mechanically sound, ball running over plate.

MF:

What really got to you in Boston?

JG:

Inability to hit with RISP.

MF:

Credit for Sox pitching?

JG:

No. They have a good bullpen. Combination of both pitching and hitting.

MF:

Bullpen, bullpen, I don't love Delcarmen. Jones! Bowden!

JG:

Delcarmen good.

MF:

Hangover?

JG:

No. Team is resilient. Lost to TB and Sox earlier, won games after.

MF:

8 games against Sox is how you get measured.

JG:

Have to do better in last 10 vs. them. Put it behind us.

MF:

Bullpen improving?

JG:

Yes. Coke big outs, Tomko pitched well, will improve with Bruney.

MF:

Bruney DL bouncing alarming.

JG:

No pain, be honest about his arm. Wasn't telling truth. Marte to Dr. Andrews. Nady throwing with soreness. Have to see. Molina a ways away. Cervelli impressive. Hit ball hard last night.

MF:

Pitchers prever Cervelli?

JG:

No.

MF:

Cano struggling, Jeter, Arod, Melky struggling.

JG:

Feel good about Arod's hit.

....going to Mets now.

This really establishes just how bad a manager he is. He knew before the inning started he would let Sabathia pitch to Drew, didn't matter that the first 2 batters reached. He wasn't even considering that CC might be out of gas. I love it. Again, I hope he manages for the next 10 years.QUOTE

Yeah, Burnett tears up AAA in his annual August rehab assignment.

Did Girardi actually pay any attention to what was happening during these last three games? Based upon some of his comments, I have to believe the answer is no. The CC/Drew thing alone makes you wonder what JG was looking at.

Mike has been screaming a lot this year which seems to be a way to keep/attract viewers since Dog left, BUT right now he is screaming and he is right. People spent 150 bucks to go to the Golf Tournament today, it was called off at 10 am, and they are saying NO REFUNDS. You are out 150 bucks and you cannot go tomorrow or the day after. Ok Mike scream this time, he actually seems sincere.

I was wondering what was going on....that is ridiculous. Mike is absolutely, 100% right.

It is bullshit to rinse people like that..either refund them or let the Thursday people in.

I hope they do not refund the people, as Mike says if they don't he will make it a 5 hour show tomorrow that would make good radio. My best guess is they will catch wind of this and refund the people, as this could go kablooie in their faces right quick.

It'll make great radio, but I hope they get their money back..

I can see this from both angles. Its bullshit that they won't let people back in but they are expecting upwards of 40000 people a day from what ice heard. Imagine the safety hazards of having upwards of 60 to 80000 people out there. They should let the Thursday people come out Monday.

While in contrast, the Yankees are giving a free admission pass to a future game to anyone who had a piece of paper with a bar code that would have got them in to tonight's rain-delayed, but completed, game.

Edit: Stupid tiquet filter

Francesca is killing the Yankees, pointing out that the Yankees are Dukes and Castillo from being 1-8 in their last nine.

He's in full rant mode.

"How sick are we of watching Joba Chamberlain in Yankee Stadium?"

Mike ripping Joba and the decision to make him a starter. "They ruined him."

"Who wants to take blame for the mess that is Joba Chamberlain right now?"

EDIT: "What you saw this weekend in Boston is the real Yankees."

Mike to interview Girardi at 5 today. Could be interesting if he's still this pissed off.

He looks lost out there and he doesn't throw hard. Not sure he can go back and throw like he used to. Well who did that to him? You have taken this wonderful talent, and ruined him. Who wants to take the blame for this?

The only reason his era isn't 5 is because they don't leave him in to take a beating. They baby him.

Ripping Girardi, and promising to go after him for the Yankee lack of effort today.

And ARod...can you tell me where they're holding ARod, so we can send this guy back, because this guy obviously isn't ARod.

The Yankees didn't want any part of that game yesterday, and showed. They swung at anything...they couldn't wait to get that game over with.

I'm telling you, the Yankees should have put their paychecks in the poor box yesterday, because that was embarrassing.

Going back to Castillo and Dukes, and 1-8. So lucky to win 2 out of 3 against the Mets.
