"The Sox get 2 gold glove plays...one from Rocco Baldelli and one from Nick Green! Rocco Balselli has to take naps between innings, yet he MAKES THE PLAY!"

Francessa will be all over Girardi saying that Bay made a great play to deke Swisher..."Great play...you don't need a great play with a boneheaded runner like that! Hey its great that he can pitch one inning, but I would prefer he learn how to run the bases!"

Can't wait...

And this game was a perfect chance for him to dig up the "Joba's got to be the eighth-inning guy" mantra again.

Some crazy bastard named Jim wants to make Joba the closer and move Mariano to the 8th inning.

Mike is trying hard not to call him a retard.

That guy kept trying to state his case on a number of scenarios and Mike just got more and more pissed off. How can someone actually think it would be a GOOD idea to move Mariano out of the 9th??? Not only think it, but call up and get on the radio and spew that garbage.

Mike is going to be epic tomorrow. I am guaranteeing 2-3 minute rants where he hardly breathes. He's going to kill Girardi for leaving Sabathia in too long, kill Damon for the dropped fly ball, and praise the Sox for their "grittiness and doing whatever it takes to win the close game."

Just imagine if the Mets take 2 of 3 this weekend.

His themes from the previous day kind of all bore out, and he'll go back to that with grim satisfaction.

Dude, could you do this? That would be awesome!

I've never done it before but I'll do it today for the 1st 20 minutes. I'll post the link later when I get it set up.
Then I'll YouTube it for posterity. It should be glorious.

This could not have set up any better. It's in Mike's wheelhouse because he's been harping on the bullpen disparity for days. And there's is nothing quite like an I-told-you-so Mike bludgeoning blinded NY fanboys.

If I were to guess, I think he's going to harp on the pedroia at bat. I haven't been this excited for radio since Mad Dog left.

Even his lack of regard for Del Carmen alone out of the great RS bullpen was supported by last night's game. He's looking like a genius now.

Any chance that because he's doing a remote at Yankee Stadium for the Subway Series he tones it down a bit?

Only if he has to talk to people face to face, otherwise I expect him to drop the hammer.

Going to set this up in about an hour, look for the YES feed on my JustinTV account- username: PixiesRule09.

Category Sports, subcat other sports. Wish me luck.

You add all that up: no clutch, no bullpen... inning after inning... this team has the same tendencies that have cost it dearly in the playoffs in recent years.

If you are a Yankees fan that looks at the big picture, you cannot wake up this morning and have any confidence that this is a special team.

As always details much appreciated.

Mike is being sanguine and philosophical stating he has no faith at all the Yankees are not an elite team this year despite how often they bully a bad pitching staff or come from behind against second division teams...For Yankees fans looking at the big pitcure you cannot have confidence that we are a team that can win a big game against a big team.....

[Red Sox games] They are symbols of the post season. They are replicas of the post season.
