Gotcha, thanks.Duran suspended
Paxton to IL, Bernardino and Keller to AAA
Bello activated, Shugart up, Gasper up, Horn up
Seems more of a like for like replacement for Westbrook, since he doesn't play the outfield at all.Westbrook was DFA'd as well.
My initial reaction was surprise that Horn had not pitched in the major leagues while with the White Sox organization. Having watched Horn pitch in the major leagues for the Red Sox, though, any surprise should be much more muted. As far as I can tell, he is the seventh player to make their big league debut with the Sox this year. Westbrook, Sogard, Uwasawa, Slaten, Horn and Booser are the others. Maybe Shugart will be the eighth.
Logan Gillaspie is a right-handed reliever that has been up-and-down with the Orioles and now the Padres, enjoying limited success with Baltimore in 2022 and San Diego in 2024 despite modest strikeout rates. The Padres claimed Gillaspie in mid-November from the Red Sox, who had claimed him in early September of 2023 from the Orioles. Between claims, Gillaspie made four scoreless appearances with Worcester.I think you mean Logan Gillespie, but I always appreciate a reference to Villanova basketball .

Connor Gillispie is a right-handed swingman that made his major league debut with the Guardians earlier this month. Cleveland selected Gillispie from Baltimore in the 2023 minor league Rule 5 draft and he has spent most of this season gaining his first Triple-A experience. The Orioles originally selected Gillispie from VCU in the ninth round of the 2019 MLB Draft, five picks after the Brewers selected current Red Sox infielder David Hamilton.
Gillaspie and Gillispie were briefly teammates with the 2021 Aberdeen Ironbirds. 2021 was the second of Gillispie’s three seasons with Aberdeen, each played in a different league.
Neither should be confused with former Marlins outfield Cole Gillespie nor former White Sox third baseman Conor Gillaspie. Gillespie was originally selected by the Brewers in the third round of the 2006 MLB Draft, four picks after the Rangers selected current Worcester Red Sox manager Chad Tracy. Conor Gillaspie was originally chosen by the Giants in the supplemental first round of the 2008 MLB Draft, seven selections after the Red Sox chose Casey Kelly. Kelly pitched three scoreless innings for Louisville on Sunday, his first appearance in affiliated baseball since 2018. The Bats are managed by Casey’s father, Pat Kelly (no, not that one for those between the ages of 42 and 56 or fans of Peacock baseball documentaries).
This is why you're Diamond Don Aase, and not like Quartz Don Aase or something.Logan Gillaspie is a right-handed reliever that has been up-and-down with the Orioles and now the Padres, enjoying limited success with Baltimore in 2022 and San Diego in 2024 despite modest strikeout rates. Made me daffy.Reading this made me dizzy
Just wait until I get going with the Kellers.Reading this made me dizzy
Very well played, sir! And thanks for setting me straight, DDA, but not one mention of the former Villanova Point Guard, now on the Denver Nuggets, which started my whole unintentional waylay of this thread.Reading this made me dizzy
Still laughing...Just wait until I get going with the Kellers.
First you have Brad, who elected free agency today after being designated for assignment.
Then you have Brian, the former minor league Rule 5 pick who was most recently teammates with Colten Brewer and Johan Mieses on the 2023 Hanshin Tigers of the Japan Western League.
And finally you have Helen, who worked the plate in Saturday’s Red Sox game against the Astros.
