Keefe normally works weeknights with Adam Jones. Keefe does a great Suzyn Waldman impression with Jones playing John Sterling.

Will Keefe be able to bring Keefer Madness to EEI or is that a TSH trademark?

I'm late to this news. Was moved by his statement, blown away by this, THE perfect summation of everything that's wrong:

"As you all know, the gossipy little sewing circle that is the Boston sports media is lousy with insecure, dysfunctional, self-loathing wretches whose contempt for New England fans is exceeded only by their hatred for one another. And I have no doubt some of them will try to put a different spin on this move. So if anyone claims I'm leaving WEEI for any reason other than what I've just told you, what you need to hear them saying is “I am making this up. I really don't have the first clue about Thornton or his show because I don't talk to anyone involved. Ever. I'm really just reaching for something to talk about and you should never trust a word that comes out of this lie-hole I call a mouth. I hate my audience.” And you can quote them on that."

Keefe is a good get for D&H. They will have the B's and C's covered now knowledge-wise. On another note, he was the only redeeming quality of the Adam Jones show so now I never have a reason to listen to Jones' homeless man's version of Mike Felger.

I have always liked Keefe in limited exposure on 98.5, but my initial reaction was his personality might not be a fit with Dale. I didn't listen yesterday, but EEI has played some clips from the first show and it sounds like that might be the case. Interested to see how it goes. I may tune in just to see if its a trainwreck.

I like it so far. Keefe has a better knowledge depth than Thornton and I think he is more entertaining. I think Holley was caught off guard where Keefe jumped right in and started challenging him. It's not just Thornton around dropping quips and hit and run comments or "being the voice of the fan". Holley says something dumb or emotional and Keefe was calling him out.

At least Keefe Madness is back!

Dale is a tough fit, he sounds very try hard to me - way overdoing it with the wacky over the top laughter
Holley and keefe sound good though

Holley and Keefe sound fine but they seem to struggle as a trio. I don't know who told Keefe to tone down the sarcasm but he's just boring and generic if he's not doing it, it's kind of his thing

I thought Holley and Keefe were great on my commute home after Dale left for the Bruins. I don't think it works as well with Dale, but I just don't like Dale in general.

I think it's a huge improvement over Jerry, just because he gets a different pov on the show. With Jerry you'd get a lot of all 3 hosts going homer.

Minihane had Keefe on the latest podcast.

Most interesting thing for me is that Keefe was pissed off when Murray got the F&M job and was basically looking to get out from then on for the right opportunity.

I think it's a big mistake as well as Murray is not good.

That was good, and when paired with him detailing how he was not given full time status at 98.5 for the seven years he worked there (Which meant he did not get health benefits), it drove home why he was mad. I'll give him credit for not quitting.

Murray is beyond Brutal. Keefe is more knowledgeable at sports and has ten times the personality. I've listened to a couple of his "Dork" podcasts too and he seems like a decent guy. I really hope it works out for him.
That was one funny point of the podcast. Minihane kept trying to find someone that Keefe didn't like or someone who hated Keefe and they couldn't come up with anyone. He really seems like a good likable guy.

He didn't murder Adam Jones after years of working with him so he must have a pretty high tolerance.

And he refuted Minihane's (And critics of Jones) belief that he just parrots Felger's takes by pointing out that they would begin their show email chain before F&M began their show.

Holley is out today, Keefe sitting second chair with Dale.

I think what is under appreciated is that Keefe has been dealing with Adam Jones and basically been in the second seat, he's 4 days in with Dale and leading a good chunk of the initial conversation.

He's so much better than Murray it's not even funny. He's got more depth to knowledge than Thornton as well. I like where this is going.

Real sorry to see Thornton go. I've always found him funny, entertaining, refreshingly different, and as an added bonus, someone who really knows his Boston sports and history. Reminds me of early Eddie Andelman, but more likable, I also thought he had good chemistry with Holley and Arnold - they turned into one of my favorite Boston sports radio teams ever going back to the 70s. So far what I've heard since he's left is pretty bland but admittedly, I haven't tuned in that much

Any chance that Keefe getting snubbed in favor of Murray was a Felger and/or Mazz call? I don't imagine Felger was looking to go back to having to put in actual work with a cohost who would challenge him like Bertrand used to do and Mazz may have seen Keefe as a threat to his cushy gig. Just spit-balling, but Thornton's point about the bitter sewing circle that is that business would seem to give it a little more credibility than your average shot in the dark.

I've really enjoyed the Holley/Keefe dynamic. I like how Keefe just dove right in like he had been with these guys for years. I have a really hard time listening to Dale Arnold though.

Thornton primarily just made jokes and played the homer. Keefe is much wittier and knows way more. It adds a great dynamic to the show

I have an irrational hatred for Dale Arnold and I'm not sure why. I hate the way he has to say complete and full names of every team and/or athlete he is talking about. It's never just "the Pats" or "Brady". He seems to get offended whenever any challenges him on something about hockey or the Bruins.

It's irrational, I know. I just don't like him.

I feel exactly the same. Couple those quirks with his plain vanilla sports media 101 takes and I cant listen. I love nights he goes over to do TV.

I think hatred of Dale Arnold is completely rational. I simply can't listen to him for more than a few seconds.

I'm really enjoying the Rich Keefe Era so far and love it even more when it's just Keefe and Holley. (How he nearly made Adam Jones's show listenable is one of the great underrated feats in sports talk history.)

Has anyone read Holley's book "Belichick and Brady"? Headed to the hospital for a couple weeks and looking for something good to read. Is there anything in there that most of us don't already know?

Only read "Patriot Reign", which was OK. If you slam thru Holley's book, I'd recommend "The Education of a Coach" which is available for a penny on Amazon.
