Mac Jones, Joe Cardona, Josh Uche the players present.... all guys who are probably not gonna be here next year based on performance
View: https://twitter.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1747667141359247496?Holy crap...Kraft was intro'ing Mayo's family and asked if he got name right and Mayo says: "It's one of those black names, so it's good."
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but kinda weird he said Bill specifically instead of "I needed a break from football."Mayo said he needed a break from Bill, so that's why he took a few years off lol
There have been multiple shots at BB already from Kraft and Mayo. Was that a shot at Bill? The echo chamber and "the game has changed since I was drafted" stuff.
I wouldn't blame him, the shit BB's camp leaked to Wickersham was ugly.
I thought it was a harmless joke...until I heard the echo chamber stuff.Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but kinda weird he said Bill specifically instead of "I needed a break from football."
Whoa...I read that way too quickly and thought you wrote "titties."I don't think these are shots. I think they are someone poking fun and differentiating himself.
He said he's a fan of titles, in regards to a question about naming coordinators.
I do think it was a bit of a joke, but like most jokes, there's some truth to it.I thought it was a harmless joke...until I heard the echo chamber stuff.
I wonder if Ben Volin has a functioning sarcasm meter.I do think it was a bit of a joke, but like most jokes, there's some truth to it.
Clearly he has a TON of respect for Belichick, but it's also clear he's approaching the job differently - both with the press (as he just said) and with his staff and with the approach to the game.
I don't know how he will handle the pressure of making a big time decision in a game, but everything this guy is talking about in terms of leading people and an organization is absolutely 100% spot on.First impression is definitely an overwhelming positive. He's 37 going on 60.
I thought of almost everyone on the offensive side of the ball--many if not all of whom have likely suffered hits to their confidence and ended the season in a difficult space.Sees one of his first jobs is to rebuild relationships.
With who? Players that Bill alienated but who he wants to keep? Other coaches / staff that he values
I was thinking scouting / front office. Guys who put in a lot of work on the draft/free agents and made recommendations that were quickly dismissed by Bill.I thought of almost everyone on the offensive side of the ball--many if not all of whom have likely suffered hits to their confidence and ended the season in a difficult space.
I love what Mayo said about seeing color and disability. He comes off like a strong confident leader--those are typically the most open to sound counsel and differing PoVs.
An excellent point, yes.I was thinking scouting / front office. Guys who put in a lot of work on the draft/free agents and made recommendations that were quickly dismissed by Bill.
For the love of God, this interpersonal home improvement project has to exclude Mac.Sees one of his first jobs is to rebuild relationships.

Lol that was savage. Refused to use his name.A shot at Parcells by Kraft. Love it
Hopefully not with Mac.Sees one of his first jobs is to rebuild relationships.

Or say the word Jets.Lol that was savage. Refused to use his name.
Shocker.Kraft just said that they won't be involved in the personnel aspect. So apparently Jonathan won't be the defacto GM.
He said they never have, unless they had issues with a person’s character. He made a great point in that if you don’t let the people you hire make the decisions, you can’t hold them 100% accountable.Kraft just said that they won't be involved in the personnel aspect. Great point.Mayo does seem to have a good mix of “no-nonsense” but also “relatability” to him.
He seems like both the kind of guy you’d want to play hard for just because he’s a good dude but also a guy you’d want to play hard for because if you don’t you’re getting stapled to the bench. I get the allure from Kraft.
I also get the sense Mayo is going to scrap the whole current offensive system.
I think that’s spot on. I’ve had bosses like Jerod that were just really cool, down-to earth guys but also didn’t waver in making a tough decision. I think Mayo will be the best of both worlds.Mayo does seem to have a good mix of “no-nonsense” but also “relatability” to him.

I can totally see why Kraft loves this guy.I think that’s spot on. I’ve had bosses like Jerod that were just really cool, down-to earth guys but also didn’t waver in making a tough decision. I think Mayo will be the best of both worlds.
