California. Duh.
I'd also like to just throw it out there that Liverpool, with a game to go, have more points than Manchester United have ever put up in a Premier League season.

I've seen Rafa frustrate teams with better talent from both sides. This game was scaring the crap out of me.
That was one of the best games I've seen in recent memory. City-Spurs in the CL and Watford-Wolves in the FA Cup are the other great ones from this year.

Oh my.

Off a ManU corner, the Huddersfield keeper just lumps it straight downfield and some dude I never heard of splits the CBs and nutmegs DeGea.

Dude then kicked the corner flag celebrating and broke it.

The ship be sinking.

Huge cheers for the replacement corner flag. 6 minute delay. Why was that not a booking?
Should have been but even then it would have been worth it. Watching the crowd go delirious batshit for the groundskeeper installing a new flag was awesome.

Lol at Guendouzi getting booked for grabbing the ball with has hands after wrongly thinking he'd been fouled.

St. Totteringham’s Day will have to be canceled!
As long as Spurs don't give up 8 goals of goal difference. Which of course they did on the final day in 2016 (lost 5-1 while Arsenal won 4-0), although GD wasn't the problem there. Very unlikely, of course, but we should know better than to take anything for granted.

The from of 4-6 has been astonishingly awful in the last third of the season (Chelsea have been ok):

City are actually wearing the horrendous fuck-off jersey from Nike. Maybe this will be the thing to finally slow them down?

It's just a pre match warmup shirt. It is hideous.

2 minutes after NBC says that Brodge would never set up a team in banks of 4 to stifle an opponent you get to see Leicester with 10 men behind the ball with Vardy a good 30 yards deep into his own half.

Having said that, Leicester have looked more than capable of scoring. A bit nervy right now, midfield is flooded so City are struggling to find space to put together many passing moves. Need a little bit more patience and for Leicester to wear down with all the chasing, i think

Leicester's strategy is probably as good as it can be for the squad they have - posses the ball, even if it's knocking it around in your own half, and look to send the long ball over the top. Because it seems like every time they try to play up through the middle, David Silva is on hand to foul someone.

That said, it's not a great approach for actually beating City.

Wowsah.

I suppose you have to occasionally possess the ball in the other team's half to prevent the CBs from setting up at the 18yd box and taking their chances.

Teddy talks about Liverpool's lucky streak a lot. I'll just point out that Kompany hadn't scored from outside the box in his entire career before hitting that shot.

I mean there's a bit of a difference between Kompany hitting an awesome strike and multiple keepers choosing to essentially throw the ball in their own net.

I'm more talking about how you kept saying that it's like it's fate for Liverpool. In this case, Kompany could take that shot 100 more times and not make it again.

I would also point out that Liverpool could be considered massively unlucky in the sense that their performance this season would have had them crowned champions a few weeks ago in nearly any other season in Premier League history, yet...here we are.

Man, some of those LCFC players looked like they had no idea what to do there in the last 10-15. Namely, Mr. Afro guy. Iheanacho is the goat though - that was the chance.

Kompany with his 7 kids, all of whom have his massive forehead, is a sight to see.

Then with time running down he commits a stupid foul and gets booked.

Didn't the announcer mention that City was his former club? Sounded like the announcer was kinda-sorta floating it out there that Iheanacho missed on purpose, like he was throwing the game or something, or was I being paranoid?

I made my peace with it a few weeks ago, that if Liverpool put up 97 points and don't win, that I'm fine with it. There's nothing more this team could have done. It's just shitty luck that they are having one of the great seasons ever at the same time as another great team.

Now, if 97 points would have won it and they come up short, I'll be devastated. But this is not a title that was tossed away in some moment of madness. It's just an epic battle.

I'm sure OCST will enjoy that, if both teams win next week, Liverpool's last dropped points of the season that ultimately cost them the title will have been the derby at Goodison.

If he tries to enjoy it too much, I'll just keep posting this over and over:

I maintain that letting Clyne leave on loan shortly before a RB crisis with TAA / Gomez hurt could’ve been the difference.

Nonetheless, can’t have asked anymore from Liverpool. Sucks that a Martian’s Jagielka-esque thundercunt was the death blow but it is what it is.

Didn't the announcer also say that he's been missing everything for 17 months straight or something?

I'd never.

I've made my peace with this, since this, plus his meltdown at Newcastle (blowing a two-goal lead away when the fans got on him for being a Sunderland product),together seem to have drummed into his thick skull that if he just calms down and stops being such a fucking glory-hound wanna-be hero spaz all the time, he's a decent keeper.

There was that time, for instance, that he saved point-blank from Salah in the Goodison derby. That was cool.
