Was about to post that Liverpool dominated the game, but when you don't score the second goal it only takes one chance for the opposition. But thanks to Albrighton taking the ball away from Schmeichel then kciking the back of Mane's leg, it's 3 points.

I do not like seeing Mane get rewarded for that. That’s exactly what VAR should be abolishing, not reinforcing.

VAR showed Mane getting kicked in the back of the plant leg with the ball at his feet. It's a no-question foul outside the box. He certainly made the ref make a decision, but once he did, there's no way it gets overturned based on the "clear and obvious error" standard.

I agree it was a foul, but it sure does look bad when the response to the contact is about 50x the force of the contact (and comes a second later).

Penalty discussion aside, I thought Lovren looked really good, and Milner put in a solid shift. Plenty of chances were created, the finishing needs to be better, though.

Correct in implying that it was little contact. Incorrect in implying it did not affect the play. Without that bump he plays it back to an open teammate with no keeper in the net.

Jorginho drives Chelsea to a lead with maybe the worst defensive dive I have ever seen leading to a break.

Silva is going to rip up MLS. He’s as savvy and skilled as ever.

Arsenal score early in the game and then basically play to tie but Bournemouth isn't equal to the task and the Gunners are lucky to win..at home. Emery continues his habit of subbing out anyone who shows any ability to possess the ball in mid (with Xhaka as captain), having his team run around for the last 20 with zero possession, zero control and desperate defending... Arsenal end up with three shots (I believe) on goal vs. two for Bournemouth. Yet Arsenal move up to third only one point behind City. So who knows.

my goodness city is a bunch of whiny bitches. Reflection of their manager I suppose. I really wish De Brunye didn't play for them because he is incredible to watch. the rest are tremendous, but my goodness they re all such douchenozzles

happy for Wolves, they deserved that result

fully expecting city to pay $200M for two new center backs in the January transfer period

Laporte injury was a killer. Otamendi was always shaky and nervy but he’s just a problem now.

Wolves had it sussed out from the start. They could have easily scored 4 or 5. Leave the makeshift City back line with two strikers to deal with and trust you’ll find one. Everyone else defend. For some reason Pep loves Gundogan but he and David Silva in midfield is always labored. Hope he will move Bernardo there or play Foden if KDB is again out for a while.

This Man Utd team are masters of the laboured build up. They have a chance to move up the table, playing a poor Newcastle side, and I feel like I'm watching a mid table Championship game, but with less passion.

It’s awful.

Van Gaal and Mourinhos football was boring but you could see a plan and a strategy. Right now this is about Moyes level of playing.

Soljskaer’s missing 5 or 6 players from his preferred starting 11 so it’s not all his fault but God damn is this tough to watch.

Maguire's got to score. Free header, loads of goal to aim at. Baffies it into the ground. Poor.

I don't know if Man Utd wouldn't be better off playing two strikers in this match. Newcastle aren't offering much. Man Utd are supposed to go all out for the win against the lesser teams. At least give it a go.

Do they have two healthy strikers at the moment?

Fair play to Ole, he's rolled the dice and brought Greenwood on with enough time for him to get into the game. Rashford's done nowt so far, maybe this'll wake him up.

I've never seen such a toothless Man Utd team. I know they're missing a bunch of players. But this has been such a lame effort.

That's Steve Bruce's first win against Manchester United as a manager. Tonight was his 23rd attempt.

I just noticed that Palace are in 6th, and their next 5 matches are against the 5 teams above them (and the match after that is against the team currently in 7th)
