Blame Arsenal for being poor, blame the refs, blame the Blades for bus-parking or shithousery or etc. - this is not an easy place for the visitors to play. Credit to Wilder.

If you don't get called for PKs when you commit fouls in the box it helps. (I also think this Arsenal team under Unai is uninspired and directionless). Mike Dean is also just awful as well.. have no idea how he's still allowed to ref in this league.

edit: especially when this Sheffield team dives more than Louganis and Dean calls a foul every time.

Credit a manager who has 3 losses in 4 home games?
They beat Palace. They beat Everton. They lost 1-2 to Leicester. They lost 0-1 to Liverpool on a keeper's howler and played them tough otherwise. The only bad loss was to Southampton. I saw the Everton game, and parts of the Liverpool and Palace games. They don't have a lot of firepower but they're well-organized, they play with passion, and their crowd backs them. They're obviously not going to threaten for a top spot but they'll compete with anyone who comes into their park.

Emery playing another turgid lineup: Leno; Kolasinac, Luiz, Sokratis, Chambers; Guendouzi, Xhaka, Willock; Saka, Aubameyang, Pepe.

Here is a question. Let's say the team above plays against the following: Martinez; Tierney, Holding, Mustafi, Bellerin; Ceballos, Torreira; Martinelli, Ozil, Nelson; Lacazette.

Which team wins more often? I certainly think the second team is going to be more fun to watch.
I'm done defending Emery. How this game played out was 100% predicable as soon as you saw the lineup. He can play a lineup with a loose central defense, he can play a lineup that has trouble linking the midfield with the forward line, but he can't keep doing both when there are clearly better options on the bench.

He has been in charge for 16 months and I don’t think there’s been a single stretch of games in which we looked good. Even when we won a lot last fall we were just riding our luck. The results would not bother me if there was some progress toward a style of play with potential to be successful. But I still have no idea what he’s trying to build and although we’ve bought good players the team is no better than it was when he took over.

Fire him tomorrow and give Freddy a chance.
