The EPL kicks off this afternoon at 3 pm EST with Palace v Arsenal. Let's start this season off right with a Palace victory.

The PL has screwed Arsenal by twice in a row having the league's youngest team kick off the season in a very hostile nighttime away environment to massive national media attention.

But whatever, its going to be a good test. Palace is a really good side and they specifically were very successful last year at using their pressing and defensive intensity to disrupt possession based teams like Arsenal and even City. I expect them to come out with their hair on fire.

NBC Sports changed up their production to accommodate Drury's prematch soliloquy. Rebecca cedes time to Drury.

Interested to hear Drury do live reads for NFL and Monday Night Raw in the middle of the match.

I started following Palace halfway through the year last year at @candylandriots suggestion and I am extremely glad I did, they were a very enjoyable club to follow. Excited for my first year following them from the beginning!

So happy to have someone else to commiserate with! And that was terrifying...Arsenal look really good.

I'm not loving this at all right now. Palace were kind of the classic 2nd half team last year, but damn, this is not good.

Ramsdale looking less great with his feet and more stepping on mines that happen to not explode.

Palace with what I believe is their first shot on goal and a good opportunity but saved by Ramsdale though if the commentators are to be believed it was on Edouard to place it better

As a Premier League newbie, I've never actually seen a dive get a yellow card before. I greatly appreciate it

I liked the yellow on Xhaka, thought White deserved one for breaking up the counter (speaking of someone who doesn't look great -- but he's been placed at a disadvantage at RB in a back 4)

I give him credit as a CB playing out of position against the dictionary definition of a tricky winger, he's been alright.

Remember kids watching the first thing to do is to kick it into the defender at speed and get it back on a lucky ricochet to get it out of your feet says the commentator

That was harsh, but also exactly the dumb bullshit that happens when you don't take chances.

Tough break for Palace, who played really well after it looked like Arsenal were going to steamroll them.
