Can you get fired for taking your team to the playoffs for the first time in a long time?

Sorry if there's some unwritten rule about dropping a bunt down the third base line with a runner on third and the third baseman is closer to second than third. A free insurance run.

The 8th and 9th innings of Game 1 are going to haunt the Mariners all off-season

I look forward to Alvarez teeing off at Williamsport East in the ALCS.
As much as some of us root against Houston, I agree that they are the best equipped to beat the Yankees. Should Tito prevail over the Yankees, then I would very much enjoy a Seattle-Cleveland ALCS. (I suspect the networks won't appreciate that match-up. )

And that's all I give a shit about; whatever team has the best shot of knocking them off, I'm all for it.

I have nothing against the Astors, they keep reloading and winning, making the playoffs and advancing deep year after year.

Not going to lie, I’m a little salty that the rest of the underdogs are doing well and not the Mariners. Going to start rooting for the Braves and Dodgers out of spite.

Yeah, Game 1 was as big of a nut punch as there could possibly have been for a team that hasn't been here in 20+ years. Now, instead of their fans being excited they will likely be terrified of every pitch for both home games. That game really sucked.

I think Game 1 was their chance to make this a series instead of “just happy to be here.” and they blew it. Doubt anyone other than the youngest, yet to be jaded Mariners fan expects this series to get back to Houston.

Right, if the Astros were dominant the whole way, then you could say “well, what are you going to do?” But they weren’t, the Mariners had that game.
