Boychuk took a skate to the face against the Canadiens and went straight off the ice, and he has not returned. I am not posting the video as, from my first look at it, I think Boychuk may have lost an eye.

Caps/Flyers tonight. Philly has sorta quietly moved into 2nd in the Metro and is threatening the Caps for the top spot.

Different Philly team this year. New coach, and Kevin Hayes are a major advantage. Flyers are giving up least shots in league. Their defensemen lead the league in goals scored. Goaltending is much better with Carter Hart nearing stardom.
it’s 4-2 midway thru third period. Helluva game. Tom Wilson has bested two Flyers in old fashioned hockey fights. Nine power plays so far. Philly using backup goalie Brian Elliott tonight.

Mika Zinanejad 5-goal game tonight, Rangers beat the Caps 6-5 in OT. Awesome game.

Edit: Carolina lost and the Islanders are losing to Ottawa with 5:00 left so could be a real good night for the NYR

Isles lose to Ottawa. They are in a free fall.
The whole lot of wildcard hopefuls seems pretty weak this year, with maybe an exception of NYR (who lost Kreider recently). Columbus has similarly gone 2-4-4 in their past 10, and are the only team in the playoff picture with a negative goal differential (-5). The Islanders are close (only +1 now), but as you mention have lost three games in regulation in a row and have gone 2-6-2. Carolina's probably the best team of the bunch (+21), but they're dealing with some major injuries (Mrazek and Reimer still out, Vatanen suffering a setback and now Pesce looking like he'll miss a lot of time down the stretch).

Flyers win, 5-2. One point behind Caps. Penguins three back after losing six straight.
As Philly won tonight and the Caps lost in OT, they're now at seemingly identical records: 40-20-7. WAS has one more ROW, however, and maintain their first place spot for now because of it.

Caps sure commit a lot of penalties. But the amazing thing is Philly held Ovechkin pointless in their four games this year. Philly went 3-0-1 against the Caps.

I fear Pittsburgh more. They’re going to get hot again.

This isn't the Rangers' year, and wasn't supposed to be, but damn am I excited about how the rebuild is going. I hope Shesterkin comes back strong and he gets more experience to close this season out, playoffs or not.

It seems pretty likely that there's going to be some important games played in empty arenas, right? It's crazy to imagine playoff hockey without fans, that would be so surreal.

Someone has clearly never won the Prince William County Mens B League Championship in back to back seasons.

Tomorrow's Vegas vs. Calgary game will feature the first all-female, nationally televised NHL broadcast. Leah Hextall will be on the PBP, with Cassie Campbell-Pascal on color, and Christine Simpson between the benches.

The Athletic has a really nice article on Leah's journey up (I'm too dumb to get a link from my mobile app, but will post when I get home).

I'm excited, as I always though she was really good rinkside for the Bruins, and her work ethic and passion shows through in the article just to get her here. I think she's going to do awesome.

Next Ten Games
TBL:
@TOR, PHI, DET, NJD, @VAN, @EDM, @CGY, TOR, CBJ, NYR
BOS: @PHI, @BUF, TOR, CBJ, @ANA, @LAK, @SJS, DET, OTT, FLA

Final Three Games
TBL:
OTT, @CBJ, @DET
BOS: @CAR, @STL, CAR

From what I see here I think it's important for the Bs to maintain or extend their lead over the next 10, as their final three will involve one against the Blues (who are fighting to hold on to their division lead currently) and two against the Canes (who may be on the bubble) while the Lightning only get Columbus and two bottom feeders. The key difference I see over the next 10 are the trips west: the Lightning have the much tougher (at least on paper) western Canada swing, while the Bruins get the cellar-dweller California teams.

Florida beat St. Louis 2-1 last night. They are back in the mix, 1 point behind Toronto. Toronto hosts Tampa tonight.

In the West, feels like the Coyotes are done after a 4-2 loss to Winnipeg. 3 points out and have played the most games.

Key word missing is "honorary" EBUG. They'll have a regular EBUG as well. Not sure what that means but it's a nice headline and some PR for Colorado.

I suspect it won't be long before the league mandates no fans until at least the start of the playoffs which is about four weeks away. Especially if the NBA goes down that path which it sounds like it might.
