The fact that Buck was not inducted into the HoF until after his death is a frigging shame on the game.
I always thought Buck didn't want to get inducted into the Hall of Fame? That his position there was a lot more deserving negro league players that he thought should go in ahead of him?

He said that publicly and the voters wanted to get in as many Negor League players as possible. So many voters didn't vote for him because they assumed everyone else was going to vote in his favor.

Logan Webb extends with the Giants. 5 years, $90M, buys out 2 arbitration years and keeps him in SF through his age 31 season.

I believe "sweeper" became a thing with the NESN booth after Youk saw the term appear on the pitch information info board at the park and immediately asked "what the heck is a sweeper?" Now they're just beating it into the ground.

Yeah they have a good nucleus there with him, Hayes and Cruz (assuming he comes back from injury fine)
If they hit on Termarr and either of their catchers, they should be good for a while.

I didn't realize the White Sox were going to be this awful. (Watching Toronto stomp them again.) FanGraphs didn't think they would be this bad, at least at the start of the season...

At least their terribleness inspired one of the greatest sports radio caller rants of all time. I don't care one bit about the White Sox and couldn't stop listening.
Well. This explains how he was able to go on a rant for 7+ mins without any filler words.
Berto from the West Side” is the impromptu alter ego of Colletti, a 35-year-old, Chicago-raised, New York-based actor who just appeared as rock journalist Lester Bangs, among other roles, in the Broadway version of Cameron Crowe’s classic movie, which finished its run in January. White Sox broadcaster Jason Benetti, who had no idea that Berto and Colletti were the same person before Thursday, said he has seen the show and that Colletti was “fantastic.”

“Colletti said he didn’t write anything down, even though he sounded like a polished radio professional. He was angry, but not out of control. The Columbia College graduate is a trained actor — he was in the “Book of Mormon” and The Sopranos prequel movie — and this was a performance from the deepest regions of his Sox fan soul.”

Jordan Walker sent down by the Cardinals. I guess a .274/.321/.397 month of April (good for a 101 OPS+) is not good enough for St. Louis. He's apparently in a 7 for 35 slump, but talk about lack of patience.

Triston Casas had better watch out! We'd be ecstatic if he was producing at that rate.

Also Walker has been brutal defensively, third worst OF in MLB by DRS so far.

They have a ton of OF and want to get him at bats and playing time in RF. He's 20, I think he's going to be a special player, but this isn't that crazy of a decision.

He's also gone back to pounding the ball into the ground like he was the first half of last year, and it's probably going to be easier for him to work on that in AAA.

What a beautiful and lifelike sculpture. Reminiscent of the Cristiano Ronaldo sculpture in terms of wonderful sports art.
