I'm another member who got switched to lurker; would love to get my membership restored. Thanks in advance (and for all the work improving an already stellar site).
If possible, can I get access to "Other Crap". Next week is going to be long and boring and that will help me pass the time.
Trying to finally pay for membership and the thread won't open for me - where do I send my $20?

When you type a post but don't post it, it won't erase. You can delete it, but then it still shows after you hit the back button then re-visit that thread later. It's weird.
You have to delete the draft or erase it and save the blank draft to get rid of it.
The former is done by clicking the floppy disk icon and selecting delete.
Saved drafts are also deleted automatically after a configurable (for the site) amount of time. I think I set it to 48 hours, maybe 72.
In the year 2015, there has to be a better icon to represent "Save" than a diskette that came to market in 1984. I wonder when someone will think of what that icon is.

How are you doing this? Highlight a part of the post and click on the "Reply" option in the bubble that pops up? What browser/OS?

Links aren't appearing in Firefox this morning.. I posted a link in the amazon thread in P&G and this is what I see

I did some stuff to help prevent the 3x a week or so spammy account we've seen with the new software.
However to put it in perspective we get a few thousand attempted spam signups a day, so we're not doing too badly.

Is there a rule now that everyone has to have an avatar? I'd really prefer to, you know, not; but I keep getting assigned one every time I delete it. I'm not gonna fight a losing battle but if this is custom now I'm curious why.

Assign yourself a white square. We go through and assign avatars to people without them when we get drunk or bored, but if you have a blank one we should (at least mostly) leave it alone.
It's just easier to keep people straight when it's not a zillion people without avatars, but if you really just want a blank square that's cool, there's no real policy.
