DeLeon scored a real banger to put Toronto up 2-1. Atlanta throwing numbers forward late, looking for the equalizer.

Jeeeez, Toronto and Seattle again?? Two midweek semifinal games, but the final isn't for 10 more days now?

I suddenly have so much less interest in this.

I think this will be a much better game than the other two. Partly because it won't be played in 12 degree weather and partly because Seattle is a much better offensive team than they were in 2016 and 2017. Plus, Seattle will be absolutely rocking.

After all away game victories in the World Series, it would be fitting for Toronto to take the cup winning all their playoff matches on the road.

Penalty save by Westberg changed the match entirely. Atlanta was roasting Toronto's high line. Instead of being down 2 goals, TFC was level a few minutes later.

Well, shit. There were only 5-10k tickets available for the general public and I wasn't lucky enough to get one. Apparently something like 50,000 tickets were chewed up by season ticket holders.

My dream of going to my first MLS Cup since 2006 is dashed.

So, I gave in and bought airfare and secondary market tickets.

I'm curious if anyone else has been to an MLS Cup before? The one I went to in 2006 was crazy, but that's mainly because I was drunk and high-fiving with Don Garber during the shootout.

I went to 2002 in Foxboro, but I never attended any of the subsequent 4 losses. I really hope to make it back to another once soon because the league and the final itself have really grown into a much bigger event in those 17 years. It was a smaller crowd, but a much better atmosphere when the Revs hosted the East final second leg in 2014.

By the way, I still think Jay Heaps’s 2006 penalty is the worst I’ve ever seen by a professional.

I was unable to make it to either of the ones the Timbers played in, but I know a TON of people that went. SOME DAY we'll host one in Portland and I really hope I'm able to get my front row seats next to the Timbers Army for that.

I went to every Revs MLS Cup loss at Foxboro. All I remember is Cobi Jones is the most overrated player in footy history.

Would be hard to top Baggio for context and execution, short of an outright swing and a miss I suppose.

edit: Noonan's miss in that same shootout was worse than Heaps'. At least Heaps put it on frame and the goalie guessed right.

This was definitely the most exhilarating soccer atmosphere I have personally experienced. Fun times.

MLS Cup kicks off as 3:08pm ET today. I'm in DC and will be foraging for a suitable soccer bar.
