Surprising but deserved due to that playoff performance for the ages. It's been a while since one man's contribution to a World Series championship was so large.

Seriously. Ortiz was a much better candidate, especially when you take in the Marathon Day aspect into account. EFF Peter King and his shilling for Peyton which obviously won the day in that voting process.

Agreed. Especially because Peyton got murdered in the Super Bowl, although I realize the vote happens way before the playoffs. That was Ortiz' year.

Would have voted for Pop personally, but can't argue that much with Baumgarner, although, Ortiz not winning it last year was so criminal that IDK if this even matters to me any more.
