Hard to explain to our kids. "Dad, why do we hate the 4th place team more than the Rays?"

Probably pretty similar to the experience their dads had if they were born in the late 70s/early 80s, actually.

I'm pretty happy with the "Yankee way." They beat up average to bad teams. They struggle against good teams. YED is a near certainty every year.

I'm also happy with the Sox system. After all those Yawkey years, I was ready to accept 1 title. I got three, and more are coming.

Let Lucky and Randy try to sell tickets at inflated prices. That's their job. And if MFY fans are happy with their system, great!

More Jon Voight days at the Toilet will sell those seats without much of a problem.

I'm finding hard to care. What we need is some good old Rays trash talk, Farrell should make fun of Maddon's glasses.

Imagine a kid born in 2005. He or she likely has no recollection of the Yanks winning in 2009 and likely does have a memory of them barely eking by the Orioles in 2012 only to get clobbered by the Tigers. If the Yanks don't do something in the next five years, those kids are going to be out of high school having no memory whatsoever of the Yanks being relevant. There's obviously a metric shit ton of stuff that can happen between now and then, but it's amusing to speculate.

Much like how a kid born in the mid to late 70s or so would have viewed them during their 1982-1993 drought.  I had all my formative years not particularly noticing or caring about the Yankees.  If only Hamels and Pedro could have each pulled out a WS victory in 2009 to go with Cliff Lee's two wins...
