What was Smoltz saying about Gonzalez going back to second? He was afraid of a swing and miss and throw behind him? If that's what he was thinking, don't take the big lead. Giving away your baserunning advantage with two out. Not good.

I think Ruiz did everything right there. He saw Baez commit to returning to the base so he threw the ball. Baez being able to stop on a dime and accelerate was crazy. Maybe if you consider that a pitcher is up you hold the ball thinking there's still a good chance to strand the runner, but I dunno. That's tough.

Crazy thing that happens sometimes in baseball where a mistake leads to confusing the other team and pays off.

That's about the 6th ball the Dodgers have hit well but right at someone.

Good positioning, good defense, good luck, whatever it is, it's working.

Crazy night here in Chicago land. Super-breezy, but warm. That ball doesn't carry out on a normal October evening.
