"This is so bad, it's almost good."
"This is so bad, it's gone past good and back around to bad again."

We all need more good wishes, and some more optimism around here.

I'm going to take it in the spirit it was intended, which was charitable (and from a guy who's probably a Nuggets fan).

I don't know guys. After he posted this we find out Embiid is banged up and might miss some games.

Now extend those voodoo powers to the Fakers and we might have somthing.

When GS loses to SAC, Durant pulls up lame at the end of the 4th quarter with a hammy and is out the rest of the playoffs, MIL loses one more to MIA, and LeBron dies of dysentery, I’ll believe it.

I gotta admit I though about it after Lebron made that layup. I thought about it. Would never post it. But since j-man did, and I like j-man, I had this shirt back when....

Definitely no malice or ill intent, but this thread should be deleted or locked so it’s not brought up every time the Celtics lose

And then Jimmy Butler gets in a car accident and the judge sentences him to be the other guy's butler, causing him to miss the rest of the playoffs.

J man I respect you but

You don't tug on Superman's cape
you don't piss into the wind
you don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
and you don't fuck with Celtics play-off mojo

The way these playoffs are going, that just sounds like "a normal Wednesday."

If you're not a Celtics fan, can you jinx the Celtics? If you can, that seems like an easy loophole for opposing fans to exploit.

I have some case history with this. My Yankee fan sister in law tried to break Clay's no-hitter one weekend up in the mountains, and my brother was legit ripshit. I cut off his evil glare by reassuring him that Yankee fans can't jinx the Sox. It was a bluff, but apparently it is true.

edit: Pedro game 6 in 2004 also serves as evidence.

I was in the Sporting Club, a huge downtown NYC sports bar, (long since gone) for Game 6 86 WS. LSS, after taking shit all night, with 2 outs in the 10th, I received congratulations from Mets fans for the Sox WS victory.

I looked at them in horror, and protested, the games not over I pleaded, but it was too late, the MF Met fans had cast their evil, intentional or not.

The rest is too painful to recount.

@j-man is his own category and this thread is not a jinx.

It's like when a fan of another team in a bar says "your Cs are gonna win it this year, I can just feel it."

Most of us just shrug and say "I hope so, I'm optimistic but you never know." Or some such thing.

When another Cs fan declares that a game is won before it isn't or that it's "our year," that's a different kettle of fish.

Then again, G38 did the whole "Why Not Us?" thing in 2004 and we know how that turned out.

And @bankshot1, I was watching game 6 with Sox and Mets fans, and one of my fellow Sox fans was taking bows prematurely. THAT was insanity. But that is still different than a random fan, not someone rooting for your team's opponent.

J man is a good man and deserves the benefit of the doubt, but tempting the wrath of the God's to crush our hoops and dreams, is a flagrant 1 in sport's superstition, even if unintentional

And need I remind this august gathering who is also looking for Banner 18?

i dont mean to jinx u guys

i dont have a nba team i used to like to bulls when jorden played

i kinda like memphis but its only because of 2 things 1 i can rim run with their point guard on 2k its fun to do that over and over online rim running is when u run to the basket and dunk or sit up a easy shot and 2 those are the only games i can watch every game of

i just dislike the lakers because they been good my wholie life weirdly i had no prom with the showtime lakers it started when i was in high school when i rooted for the trail brazers in 99 because of pippen and was crushed when they blew that 15 pt lead in the 4th q and then the kings from 00-02 and GS because my dad loves their coach and he likes the 3-point shot which annoy me lol
