Allen gone. Murray now confirmed as gone. Noil suspended for the bowl game for weed. Going with a third-string JUCO transfer who couldn't cut it in the Big XII. Multiple starters on offense rumored to be threatening to transfer. No QB recruits in the pipeline for 2016.

Best aggyland day in Austin for a while.

Y'all must be throwing parties over what's been happening in College Station.
It's kind of like watching a coworker get hammered at an office Christmas party. It's fun to watch but the fun is a tad subdued because you know reality is going to suck balls in the morning.

Unless they can manufacture some cause to fire him, it's going to cost A&M roughly $30M to get rid of Sumlin. And they are already a bit in the shit with their stadium going $75M over budget.

They've been a dumpster fire since Manziel won the Heisman. Weird how under the radar that's been – I guess being irrelevant has some benefits.

Don't they have the #1 QB in the nation coming in?

As nice as it is, it feels like the floodgates in Texas are wide open recruiting wise. Even without aggy getting a lot of these guys the other SEC schools, Oregon, and Michigan have had a big presence this recruiting cycle not to mention the rest of the Big 12. It does open up the opportunity to flip several guys from aggy but the fallout won't result in much of a difference immediately.
If my reading comprehension skills still function, apparently not in 2016. They have some hotshot Johnny Hitler-like guy committed for 2017, but that's a long way away.
He also for a little while yesterday was reportedly trying to graduate this year because of the unrest. I would have loved to have seen a 5'10 17 year old starting vs Bama.

In that scenario, he will have quit the team and announced his intention to transfer by that point in the season.

With the way Sumlin has managed things, the kid would be relegated to being their back up by Bama. Losing Kliff Kingsbury certainly hurt that program. That dude is a quarterback whisperer and knows offense. They haven't really replaced him. aTm's offenses have been alright since, but the quarterback play has been up and down.

Weren't you guys in the 30s to start the day? In the teens now...more guys on the board?
Composite Top 10 now.

Strong recruits differently than most coaches. He doesn't do in-season OVs. Texas had theirs the past three weeks, and Strong doesn't want public commits. He has his players do the leg work of recruiting their peers.

Yeah, I think I read this earlier in this thread. Interesting recruiting style.

It looks like another nice class for Strong, but man do we need a QB. The Horns won't contend in the Big 12 without one.

According to some rankings Texas was #5 coming into the day- in the state of Texas. Big movement so far today.

Man Charlie really needed this class. Fantastic job by the staff and the players. Winning the head-to-head battles against LSU and aggy of particular importance.

My brother has been glued to LHN all day (fucker is working from home, apparently). He said the Big 12 ended up with 33 of the ESPN top 300. Texas nabbed 11 of those. The breakdown he sent me is as follows:

Texas: 11
rapey: 8
chokelahoma: 6
froggy: 5
WV: 2

I count 32, so I'm guessing okie lite ended up with one. Not sure why they weren't on the graphic.

What a huge day. I was mentioning to him yesterday that they needed some DT recruits because of the loss of Ridgeway. Sure looks like they addressed that, and then some.

I'm fired up to see that defense in action.

Texas had 22 official recruit visits this past weekend. 18 of them committed today. That's amazing.
Incredible. Especially given the 5-7 record, Strong being a couple of bad losses from being shown the door, no QB you can lean on, etc. The difference in his and Mack's recruiting style couldn't be more opposite -- I can only remember a handful of guys that Mack flipped/signed the last few days. We used to lock most of our class up two years in advance.

But wait. It gets better.

aggy went 0 for 16 on their top defensive recruits. ZERO. And only got two out of their top ten overall targets, one at a position (WR) where they don't really need it they're so stacked.

aggy got one guy (a QB) that they targeted and needed. One.

Whoop!

Strong was also two kicks away from 7-5 and pretty close to 8-4.

But to dampen spirits the 2012 class was #3 in the country. That didn't turn out so hot.

I am 99% sure Madubuike was one of their top 5 defensive guys as he should be, dude's a monster. Aside from that though, they had an incredible run of strikeouts today which was awesome to follow on Texags. Once Jones chose the good guys and Pennamon didn't flip to aggy as expected they were in for an extremely rough day.
