Play your strongest side until it’s over. Yesterday’s lineup will do. If City drop points again the door is open. Assuming Salah is out I think it’s Diaz/Jota/Mane up top. Which kind of doesn’t work as Jota is better through the middle. I could see Firmino for Jota.
I’m also hoping VVD gets a rest. A “twinge behind the knee” as he puts it is very concerning is worrying. A Matip-Konate paring have the wheels to keep a lid on Soton’s counterattack.

Also, I’ll add that any season that ends with 2 trophies, 3 cup finals, and a top-2 league finish is massively successful. The quad is such an incredible dream, of course 2 trophies pales in comparison. But fuck that. What an amazing ride this season has been, what awesome performances we’ve seen, what grit and determination matched by wonderful skill and cohesion. This Liverpool squad is one for the ages.

So much as a fan is put on winning that people often miss the enjoyment. Even if 'pool had zero trophies this year, to get to watch this team week in and week out and to marvel at some of the individual brilliance...you need to walk away filled with joy.

Agreed - I assure it’s not taken for granted. I’ve been watching Liverpool religiously for 20 years (and would have for many years before that if it had been available) and this is sheer euphoria.

This Is Anfield put out these two projected lineups which are somewhat interesting (I'd vote for B personally -strong up the middle)

I stopped visiting This is Anfield awhile back. Those lineups don’t really suggest to me that they’ve improved much in their analysis, particularly the first one. Like you said, there’s no spine at all, nor is there protection for a center back pairing that hasn’t done much outside of the lower competitions. Throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks is fun, but some grounding in reality wouldn’t hurt.

The athletic reports Origi has agreed to terms with Milan.

The legend still has 2 more opportunities for historic goals this season. Let’s see them.

Hopefully Milan fans will take up my idea to sing Divock Origi to “Be-Bop-A-Lula.”

Tyler has been driving me crazy for years - and not because of his anti-LFC bias. He’s just a terrible announcer
I'll never understand fans who pine for the understated announcing shtick. Give me Trupiano's warning track home run inflections and even Ray Hudson's cartoonish delivery over dry British biscuit PBP any day. Spanish broadcasts and even French broadcasts are typically terrific.
