One year ago today Liverpool lost to City 2-1. You might remember that as the game where all but 1.12 cm of the ball got over the line on a Liverpool shot that was cleared.

They've played 37 games in the Premier League since. 32 wins, 5 draws, 0 defeats. 101 points.

Looks like Rhian Brewster will be going on loan to Swansea City, should be confirmed tomorrow. The team wanted him available for the FA Cup game today, so it was delayed until then.

Swansea got blown out by QPR and is out of the cup anyways, so no issue with him being cup-tied.

More than the win, the most impressive thing about yesterday was seeing the kids playing Klopp’s system. It’s a testament to the work he’s doing top to bottom.

Lallana looked absolutely incredible out there. If he leaves, I hope he has an Ings-esque resurgence. He’s been unlucky with injuries but always worked his ass off and contributed whenever he was capable and called.

I saw a stat yesterday that's pretty amazing. In the last 17 Merseyside Derbies going back to 2012, Everton have had the lead for a total of 7 minutes.

Well, it will be easier to find a shirt, but fuck, I hate Nike.

Just don't give us the same template that 40 other clubs will be wearing that year.

I'm usually not a fan of the third kit anyway, but "hyper turquoise" doesn't sound promising.
Nike/Jordan has been pushing Hyper Turquoise a lot on their shoes. For example the KD 10s in Hyper Turquoise.

That color should not exist.

My wife sent me a watermarked picture of a black kit with pink highlights and lettering. I actually liked that.

Then again, Juventus often has pink kits and I always pick those up.

Yeah I think Barca has a Hyper Turquoise as their third this year. No thanks. Would not buy even from knockoff international market.

Henderson and Gomez both had pretty bad games .. Mane didn’t do much either. Fabinho’s return is going to be big. That was the first bad game from Gomez since he came back into the side.

I think they will start doing some serious rotation .. the whole team looked exhausted. Fortunately some guys are coming back into the team so there’s lots of healthy bodies.

I thought Mane's effort tracking back on defense and breaking up counter attacks was great.

They were gassed the last 20 minutes and Spurs really should have equalized, but over the balance of the game Liverpool did enough where they could have won much more comfortably.

You are right about Mane .. I guess I was talking about his offensive contributions. The defensive side of his game makes him, IMO, the best player in the league.

Mane came back to break up at least 3-4 surefire counter attacks, he was outstanding on the defensive side. Thought Wijnaldum was outstanding aside from his error under duress that led to a Son chance

I don’t want to get into a back and forth about this, because I don’t care that much, but I have always thought of that as green. Certainly greeener than that “hyper turquoise” boot that was posted. And as an accent, I guess, but as a main color? I don’t see it.

As I said, I’m usually not a big fan of third kits anyway.

I think the Spurs keeper kit is that color. A black kit with hyper turquoise lettering & accents would be killer...but I’m sure that’s not what is coming.

I know we always associate Nike with the Oregon Ducks crazy colors, but it's not like New Balance didn't put us in the highlighter yellow and highlighter orange as 3rd kits a couple years in a row.

I've said this with every kit manufacturer change; I really don't care what htey do with the road and 3rd kits as long as the home reds stay fairly classic looking.

The official LFC style guide lists it as LiverpoolFC Green. The RGB is 0,153,130 and the Hex is #009982

League One Shrewsbury Town knocked off Championship side Bristol City in their replay, so it's a 90 minute bus ride down the Welsh border for the kids and reserves in the FA Cup 4th round.

AFCON confirmed for Jan-Feb of 2021. Gonna suck to lose Salah, Mané, and Keïta for that critical period.

And however much time Mané and Keïta spend injured afterward, as well as Salah being exhausted from carrying an entire nation on his back.

Could have been worse... Could have been this year...

At today’s press conference, Klopp said Fabinho and Matip are ready go on against ManU.

I used to have Fabinho’s return as a key date in their title bid, but they proved me wrong. I do think his inclusion makes the team significantly better, but it’s more about rotation at this point.

Making the bench is one thing but starting? Dependent on Henderson’s health I think he gets the nod - replaced with Fabinho on the hour.

Klopp also insinuated in his presser that AFCON moving to the winter would be a consideration in signing new African players.

Here's the next 8 league games.

@West Ham
Southampton
@Norwich
West Ham
@Watford
Bournemouth
@Everton
Palace

Anything can happen on any given day, but after surviving a run of Leicester City, Wolves, Sheffield United, Spurs, Man United, and Wolves again with no dropped points, I'll take this stretch.

City away and Chelsea at Anfield are the only games left against the current top 8. Other tricky games include Everton and Arsenal away.

They are calling Mane's injury a "muscle tweak". I'd expect him to miss a few games.

Minamino’s signing might look pretty brilliant if he’s even competent in this stretch. What would United give at this point to have made that transfer?
