Mildly surprised no one has mentioned this Giardi tweet

"Can confirm there is an offer on the table for Blount from the Patriots. They would like a return. He would like a return. $$ matters"--Mike Giardi

Let's face it, LGBT is not long for this league. But he did step up early in the year last year when Brady was suspended, so some kind of reasonable offer is the right thing to do.

What do you mean by "he is not long for this league"?

He's entering his 8th year which seems long in the tooth for RBs I guess (I'm not sure of typical career length), but I didn't see any signs of breakdown last season. If you mean he might only has one or two productive years left, then sure. If you mean he's done, I disagree.

I thought it was common knowledge that an offer was out there for Blount. He's obviously hoping for something better.

Also, by "the right thing to do" are you suggesting they owe him a contract because he "stepped up" while Brady was out?

How many RBs can they have on the roster? Or are they expecting to cut one of White/Lewis?

No, I'm not, but I am suggesting it's in their interest to offer him something modest, and then cut him if need be. Blount has been a good soldier, and I think other players note the way such players are treated
