So it looks like the Reds, who are in last place in their division, are only 4.5 back of first place. That is a smaller margin than any other division has between 1st and SECOND place.
This division race will quite possibly be the only one resembling a race come September. The Reds actually have the 2nd best RD in the division at +27 and have played great thelast few weeks.

How does one handicap the race? Are the Cubs still the odds on favorite to win the division? Do the Brewers have enough SP to compete? Do the Cardinals have enough bats to compete? Can the Pirates steal it?

This division competition may save baseball.

I think the Reds or Cubs are who I’d put money on if I was a betting man. I don’t think Milwaukee or St Louis has enough pitching and the Pirates don’t exactly have a great staff either.
