Looks like a pretty widespread outage. It wasn't loading for me, and I initially assumed that was on my end, but Twitter seems to have lots of reports of issues.

Hmm, was requiring a pay TV login for the playoffs part of the deal with MLB.TV last season?

Miami (oh, Miami!)
This seems the best place to put this.

Unless I'm misreading, even if I pay the package rate for post season baseball ($24.99) I can't view any of the games if my ISP is not listed on this MLB chart: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index.jsp?product=US

Is that correct? Sucks for fans in cities that have only one ISP.

If anyone is feeling merciful, but does not wish to post in thread, please PM me re any possible work arounds to the blackout.

Wait, it's $25 and you have to be a subscriber to those channels already? Fios already lets me stream TV to my phone for free, why would I pay an additional fee to mlb for it? Or will Fios blackout the games from streaming otherwise?

And *none* of them are Comcast/Xfinity? Aren't they still the largest pay TV provider?

This might be a reason for a short subscription to DirectTV Now (although, then you'd *also* have to buy this package in addition?)

Comcast wants you to use it's streaming app.

Streaming should still work separately from MLB.tv. My Dad is a cord cutter (role reversal, I know) and I've activated the ESPN and TBS apps on his Roku for him with my Comcast login and he was able to watch both games.

Yeah, I don't have a TV subscription. I am my own boss though, so I may just pop off early and go to a local sports bar.

I really hate this. I'm willing to pay to see the games on a streaming ap. I can do so for the regular season. It's a travesty that they can't find a way to take my money, overcharge me even.

I just went a free month of DirectTV now. Their $50 tier has access to MLB Network (BUT it doesn't seem like authorization against DirectTV now is working for this game, so MLB.TV still isn't working).

I’m on the $35 tier for DirecTV Now. They’re doing a free trial of MLB Network for all users for the next 8 days.

Acestream feeds offer better quality these days. Persistent lag issues have turned a once great service to utter trash.

MLB sent me a survey about mlb.tv, and from the content, it sounds like there will be more options/packages in the future. Some of the options they were asking about were including pre/post game shows (I'd love that), 4K quality, number of simultaneous users (1, 2, or 3). Some of it sounds great, but it also sounds like some of the packages would restrict some features that weren't before. For instance, some of them only allow you to view on mobile devices, or only on Roku/consoles/Apple TV. It also looks like they're thinking about de-bundling the MLB At Bat Premium app from the subscription, which would suck.

The whole point of the survey seems to be for them to figure out what they should offer, so I tried to make it clear that I wouldn't be OK with packages that only allow viewing in SD, or only on mobile devices. If they could give me the same product as now with 4K and post-game shows, I'd be pretty happy.

I’d be curious about simultaneous user restrictions. Me and my son watch games in different locations a bunch. I’d hate to see that go away. But its never more than 2.

I get the sense that at the very least, you'd be able to have 2 users, but maybe it'd be on a slightly more expensive package (none of them were more than $130 for the season). The survey was basically an endless series of packages, with them trying to figure out what's important to you and what's not. If it helps, I generally pushed for at least 2 users at once, so hopefully that helps keep it around.

Just filled it out. That thing was hardcore. I tried to answer for device options as much as possible. That's really the key.
That was one of the things I said was unacceptable - limiting the type of device I can watch on. It's really nice to be able to watch a big AB on my phone, or stealthily watch a day game on my laptop at work, but at the same time I'm mainly watching on TV via a PS4. It'd suck to lose the ability to do all of those.

Not here
My brain isn't working today and I'm trying to figure out when I'm going to be doing some important stuff over the next couple weeks so I have a stupid question.

Don't we generally get access to all spring training games on mlb.tv? Meaning, if it's listed as televised on NESN we get boston guys, sometimes there's an opponent broadcast. Do MLBN games get mlb.tv treatment?

Like if the game is on mlbtv do you still get the home or away broadcast team options? No, you don’t.

Yes to spring training as long as there is actually a broadcast.

A reminder for T-Mobile customers, you get a free subscription to MLB.TV for the whole season, but you have to sign up on March 27 ONLY though.

If I already have MLB.TV (prior to joining T-Mobile) can I cancel and use my new T-Mobile account to sign up?
Apparently not, you need to cancel your automatic renewal before it charges you as they don’t do refunds (or so I’ve heard). Your 2017 subscription runs through spring training though I believe. If not, you might need to buy a month if you want to watch ST in March. I’ve never done the TMobile thing, only switched to them this year, so I’m figuring this stuff out as I go.

Edit: See comforting news above

I got no problem with paying for the games. Just stop blacking out every fucking West coast team because I live in Hawaii.

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Some reports of technical difficulties trying to redeem the TMo code. (I was one of them) Just back out and try again from scratch.

Plenty of offers on Slick Deals to hook you up for $5, but you have to give them a user name and password (since sellers won't give you their TMo phone number).

Anyone else having issues watching on a mobile device? I haven't been able to watch the past two days on my Note5 and I don't recall an update lately, just getting an unknown error.

I was able to watch a Live Look In yesterday, but not an actual game stream

No problems on mobile - or my (Roku) App .. but my Xbox live feed hasn't worked for a few days - same Unknown Error.

You probably need to update the app. I couldn't even get the At Bat app to load on my phone the other day - downloaded an update and all worked fine - streams and everything.

Ya, I finally got it working.

I actually called the support line and finally got through to a person.
She directed me on what I needed to do, which basically ended up as uninstall the app and then reintstall it.

However, before that happened, there was another update, so I installed it and I was still getting the same error.

So after an uninstall and reinstall, it started working normally.

Anyone else with the android app experiencing an audio/video stream page since yesterday? Video goes to an unknown error screen, audio just crashes the app. Gameday works fine.

Edit: clearing credentials in the app fixed it, if anyone else is having the same problem.

Has streaming quality been a constant issue for anyone else? Been using the MLB app loaded on my TCL 6 series with the Roku built into it. Thought I'd go wired instead of wireless, but I'm not seeing much of a difference. Got a great modem and router with good speed. Getting pretty frustrated.

I have had issues with my roku this year every game. It’s fine on the iPad or computer, but roku gets 15-20 minutes behind by the end of the game with so much buffering.

How old is your Roku? I had a roku 2 and it was shit for NBA tv. I had to upgrade to use YouTube TV, and as a side benefit, NBA tv worked properly.

I've had a lot of issues watching on PS4 but it always works flawlessly on my laptop or phone. It's clearly the software they wrote for PS4 that sucks, which is really frustrating.

I have had no issues watching on the ps4.

Though I am connected via Ethernet.

I have the Roku 2 XD and have the same issue. Because of this, I almost always watch on my tablet and have no issues.

They rewrote the app for the TiVo Roamio and it is much better than last couple years. Previously I could watch for about 30 minutes before it would buffer, stutter and eventually close the stream.

Still very rock solid on my iPad and iPhone. At times it’s even quite good on LTE where my expectations are lowered.

Me too. Same connection that works perfectly on my laptop. I'll get the spinning baseball over and over, but what's really annoying is that if you back out and then start watching the game again, it picks right up. It's almost like the thing can't handle any blip in connectivity, so you have to hold its hand.
