I'm guessing tomorrow or next Tuesday at the latest T-Mobile will announce the free MLB-TV package for their customers via the T-Mobile Tuesday app. I'll post in here if I get it tomorrow.

Just got an email saying that since I’m a prior subscriber I can get it for $15 off. So $45 instead of 60. Still high for what it is.

I have an extra from T Mobile that I will give away in exchange for a $50 donation to the Jimmy Fund. Message me if interested.

If there is a way to gift the sub to The Athletic, I have one for someone...

DM me.

For those of us unfortunate souls on Sprint, this apparently also applies (website says T-Mobile & Sprint customers in really small print). So maybe not so unfortunate...
Yeah, I'm Sprint too---download the app and you get a push every Tuesday with the latest offers.

They will shut off the account if they see it's being accessed from a non-T-Mobile subscriber. I had one I got from a T-Mobile person a couple years ago. It worked fine for 1-2 months (I was careful to never access it from the cell network) and then got shut off.

edit: This is in reference to MLB.TV, not The Athletic, just to be clear.

I know how to activate MLB.TV if I purchase through cable subscription. Can I do this in reverse? I "purchased" through MLB.TV--can I somehow log into Verison FIOS and make it so I can watch on big screen?

Or is it ROKU only?

Is Gameday Audio working for anyone? I tried on both my phone and my laptop, and while it says playing there's nothing but silence on all of the radio stations on this game.

EDIT: never mind, I'm an idiot and they're in a rain delay!

By watch on the big screen you mean on the extra innings stations on cable? If so then no, buying extra innings comes with mlb.tv but buying mlb.tv doesn't get you extra innings. Depending on your set up it's probably pretty easy to get mlb.tv to display on your tv though.

In case anyone didn't know, they do offer a military discount through Troop.ID, I got like $28 off or something, so I jumped on it.

Did any other season ticket holders (for any MLB team) get an email a week or so ago about having free access to MLB.TV this year? I'm almost certain I did, but I can't find the message now. If someone has it, can you kindly post the instructions for how to register and access? Thanks.

I've been "selected/invited" by MLB to take a survey about my experience with their app on Apple TV. Not sure how big of a sample MLB is going for, but if everyone isn't getting this I'm happy to add any Apple TV specific issues/requests you might have.

The only one I have is wanting the ability to quad-box and watch four games at once, instead of just two. You can do it on the MLB website and the ESPN and FOX apps let you do it on Apple TV. I'd have the same request for NHL.tv... it must have been a BAM thing during the development of both apps.

I feel your pain regarding the Oakland A's. MLB and any other network are prohibited from showing any game on Sunday night from 7pm to 11pm. It's not MLB's fault that A's games start at 4pm which bleeds into the 7pm dead zone. Of course being on the West Coast some of the Oakland games begin at 10 pm eastern. I love Mike Trout but he is hard to follow on the East Coast. Oh well.

MLB TV. I have had it for years and still, to this day. I can barely hear the play by play and then the commercials come on to blast my eardrums. And this year, the annoying, constantly repeating commercial is Roman. Every inning, every game.
I wonder if any executive that works for them has actually sat down and attempted to watch a game on this service?

This season, it appears that the PS4 version of the MLB.TV app now disables the pause, rewind, and fast forward buttons during commercial breaks. So, those of us who sometimes pick up the game late and try to catch up need to be really precise about when/how we try to advance things. The app also seems to randomly crash more often than I recall happening during previous seasons.

I just got my email for 2021 MLBtv subscription.

Still $129.99 for the full season. But if you rolled over last year's payment you have a credit of $76.81 so the cost this year is $53.18.

I've been paying for the service since it was MLBAudio in 1998 or 1999, so it feels odd to drop it after all these years. The three hour time difference makes watching all of games difficult, but I guess working from home means I can start watching earlier than when I had to commute home.

Interesting. I wonder why I didn’t get one? When I go to pay, it’s $139 after tax.

Will a VPN allow you to watch in market games still? Seeing some conflicting info on the googles.

Worked for me last season.
Which did you use, if you don't mind sharing? In the past I used Unlocator (I think) and as of last year MLB.tv wouldn't connect - the page would load but the video would disconnect before loading. I have MLB.tv through T-Mobile and I would rather use that than a streaming website.

Reports around the net seem to suggest there's a squeeze on the more popular services.

Hopefully we can watch Spring Training games this year. I'm T-Mobile and last year we could not. I even called MLB.TV and told them they were missing out on a great promotional opportunity by not giving free access to ST games. Guy agreed with me and said he would pass it along.

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Where are people selling these?
SlickDeals. The thread will likely be on the first page of the Hot Deals forum. Go to the last page of the thread.

You'll likely want to create a burner gmail and a burner MLBtv acct, just to be safe.

EDIT: there is a RUMOR that if you try watching on a cell carrier other TMo/Sprint, the acct could be deactivated.

EDIT2: IIRC prices on Ebay drop thru the day, as more and more codes become available.

Snagged one. I was not able to use the url provided. The seller had to take my login details to activate it. I changed my password right after it went through.

Does anyone else use an Android TV and notice that the MLB.tv user experience changed significantly within the last week? I'm missing (functionally and emotionally) the in-game scoreboard/lineup/box score and the ability to jump to specific half innings by navigating on the box score.

They updated their app recently. It looks like you can still you can still navigate the half innings on a timeline which will indicate when each half inning starts, but I agree that the old method of using the linescore to choose the half inning was better. And while I'm all for a less cluttered presentation, removing the ability to bring up an in-game boxscore and the scores from other games is a straight miss. I don't see how anyone could consider these changes an improvement.

Just knocked it out. T Mobile really has great bonuses with this and Netflix as freebies.
Holy crud, looks like TMo recently added Netflix on Us to the 55+ plan we're on. Netflix was not available the last few times that I checked. Now to figure out how to get it onto our account, what with Netflix cracking down on shared passwords.

That was the impression I got after giving that thread a quick looksee: MLBTV has to be activated directly from the seller's phone/TMo account. Thinking back a few years, I sort of recall my son having to activate it from his phone as I drove him to school (our sons use our two 55+ acct lines due to the unltd data).

Not sure about this. Last year I had this through Sprint and was able to watch through streaming on ROKU and through the Xbox.

EDIT: Or maybe that is okay, but on different cell phone is issue?

Is anyone watching this on a PC? It seems to work on my phone using the app but not on my PC. Not sure if it takes time to get updated.

A person on slickdeals says this:
FYI for IOS users.
Since Apple handles all the subscriptions on their end you will NOT see the subscription on the account page online.
If you go to the app and click account, next to your email you will see "MLB.TV/MLB Audio". If It did not work, you will see "Free"

To test your account. Go to videos and go back to March 26th. Play the first game on the list, Tigers/pirate. If it plays you're good. If it doesn't your sub isn't active.

That's on your home wifi. Don't watch from the cell LTE/5G network.

Does anyone here have any spare codes? I'll gladly send you double the going rate $10 in Amazon GC or venmo or whatever.
Do you still need a code? I’m happy to contact someone on slickdeals for you to facilitate this.
