#2 seed mofos!!!

Game ball time. Or, LeGame Ball Time:
  1. LGBT the Rusher (24 rushes for 189 yards for 7.9 YPC and 2 TDs)
  2. LGBT the Kick Returner (2 returns for 145 yards and a WTF 72.5 per return AVG)
Honorable mention goes to:
  • Mankins for coming back from blown achiles
  • Siliga (that's Si-ling-ga to you and me) for coming back from a torn ACL
  • My, macho, Eck, and others' binky Ryan Allen for superb hold and excellent punts (no thanks to Kanorris Davis)
  • Entire team for doing something so improbable - 12-4 record and a #2 seed in the AFC
Happy New Year to All!

Edit: just realized "Le Game Ball Thread" spells LGBT

On Blount trade, Belichick says "An assist to that one has to go to our assistant pro personnel director Talib."

Blount was a man among boys out there today. The Bills just couldn't get get him down unless they had 3-4 guys ganging up on him. Really impressive game.

Besides the obvious I'll go with Talib both for lobbying for LGBT in the off-season and because the only time I saw him on the field was when he tackled Spiller for a loss which means he did a hell of a job covering his side.

I want to mention Slater's crushing block on LG's first long return. It sprung the big man on his runback. that return swung momentum back quick after Buffalo scored

You guys are all wrong... The star of the game was clearly LaGarrette Blount.

What were you watching anyway?

Doesn't even need a thread.

The player wearing 29 today who redefined the term "man-beast."

But honorable mention to Byron Hout's face

For commencing the downward spiral on the price we had to pay for him.

RT @JLundbladESPN LeGarrette Blount's 334 all-purpose yards are the most in the NFL since the merger

This isn't true.

Glyn Milburn had 404 yards in 1995: 131 rushing, 45 receiving, 133 KO, 95 punt return.

EDIT: Tweet was edited. 7th most.

Here's one from Lundblad:

LeGarrette Blount is the heaviest player in modern NFL history with more yards (334) than his weight (250)

I dont know if "all purpose" means you have to have some return yards but Flipper Anderson's single game receiving total was higher.

Edit:  I type slow, addressed above.

Blount might have had the best single game by a Pat all year (non-Brady division). What a performance.

Honorable mention to:
- Pats ST in general - Gost 4/4 on FGs (and only one KR returned), good punting from Allen, blocking on KR, and Ebner with the huge onside recovery late
- The OL blocking
- Another nice game for Ridley
- Seemed like they stayed away from Talib completely
- Siliga and Ninkovich - great in the run game, each with a sack
- Edelman
- Whoever stole the stickum from the Bills' sideline. Drops KILLED Buffalo today.

"Down" games for:
- The non-Edelman passing game. Brady had some misfires, drops by Amendola and Vereen, some miscommunications
- Ryan and Arrington - each beaten a couple times, seemed to screw up the Graham TD play
- Chandler Jones - saw him lose contain a lot, not much of a factor in pass rush, costly (ticky-tack) penalty late
- Vereen - drop led to an INT, also had a fumble
- Gregory - he was really good through like 12 weeks this year but now we're seeing the 2012 guy again

Blount.

Chandler Jones also had an excellent showing.

I don't think they really do special teams where he comes from.

Yes. I thought McDaniels was good today, too, leaning on the run and mixing in play-action and screens.

I saw his performance differently - it seemed like every time Spiller or Jackson bounced one outside, Jones was losing contain on the backside.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned him yet, but that LeGarrette Blount guy played a solid game.

One could even say he sucker-punched the Bills in the mouth.

If LGBT is asked to go to the Pro Bowl for any reason, he should politely decline.
And no playing in sand games, in Hawaii or elsewhere.

I'm also glad that Zo has found the beef and that the beef goes beast mode.

Zo: how about "beef mode" for LGBT?

I am really pleased that the Pats have beat two teams in a row by >10 points with Brady being a game manager. The offensive line has been beasting the last two weeks. Plus Blount and Ridley have run hard. Buffalo has a great front seven, so that wasn't easy.

If you told me last year that the guy most known for cold-clocking a Boise St. player after a game would be instrumental in propelling the Pats to a first-round bye and quickly become Brady's new BFF, I don't know what I would say.

How about one for Mankins? Goes out with what looks like a season-ender, then is back out trucking people 20 minutes later. No tougher guy on the team.

He said in the post-game that he talked to Talib when they were considering trading for Blount and Talib sang his praised and everything Talib said about him ended up being completely true.
