Is it my imagination or did computers also come with projector capability at one time? I did a search on Amazon and found only one (a lenovo) for which 3 were left....
Other than a few Lenovos I don't remember anyone else making built in projectors, I'd have to think you'd get better quality for better pricing by just buying a portable projector

Why are you interested in a projector? Cellar door is right that portable projectors are available and capable. But another option might be something like a Chromecast. With that, you can display whatever is in a Chrome browser tab to any screen where the Chromecast is plugged in. With a Chromebook laptop you could display your entire desktop at any time. That functionality is also possible with Apple computers and the Apple TV, but going the Chrome route is cheaper.

Depending on your wants and needs there’s an option for every budget.

Not OP but I'm considering a projector for outdoor movies with the kids. Just saying, there are some applications still...

Yeah, but then something like a fire stick will be way better than connecting a laptop and they're dirt cheap.

Yeah, that’s fair. I didn’t mean to imply that projectors are useless, just that there are cheaper ways to put a quality image on a big screen. If Pops wants a projector it’d be good to know if it’s for outdoors, TV, slides/photos/PowerPoint, YouTube/streaming video, or something else.

A lot of laptop setups can drive powered surround speakers directly; I don't think any of the fire sticks can handle that.
