He should have been let go years ago. The Angels haven't really been a contender in almost a decade. They have one of the best players in the game and they can't even get to the playoffs.

Should’ve been let go after the 2008 ALDS but was instead signed to ridiculous 10 year $50 million deal.

Why? Were you shocked when you heard he was hired initially?

Bad news for Red Sox or any other fans outside LAA. So sad. Hunches and supposed small-ball strategies are dying all too quickly.

"Bill Clinton was still president when Mike Scioscia managed his first game for the Angels on April 3, 2000. Mo Vaughn batted third for the Angels that day. Ken Hill was the starting pitcher."

So now it's official. Teary news conference and everything on MLBN.

Then Harold Reynolds is all "Arte Moreno took a gamble with him, he made this place a destination" Emm, Harold, Mike was hired by Disney when they owned the team and he won his one World Championship under that regime. It was later that Moreno bought the team.

Not to mention that it's hardly a destination. It's the place where the best player in baseball toils in relative anonymity.
