Yeah this guy is maybe top 30. I can't believe some people. Boston finally gets an insanely good superstar and people are complaining?

Wow, I mean I watched what Kyrie did to Klay in the finals but did anyone else?
Vs. GSW in two series. No one thinks he's a top-12 player, right? Maybe I'm crazy. I can think of at least 8 PGs that I'd rather have.

IT/Crowder/Zizic/LAL 1st

I do that deal. Would take some big balls to trade Kyrie to Boston, but I am rooting hard for this just for the crazy games that will happen post trade between the Cavs and Celts next year.

This would be trading the 1st pick of the 2011 draft for the 60th (with due respect to Crowder and Zizic)

Kyrie shot 40% from 3 last year. So did Hayward. That's Brad's dream.

I absolutely love Isaiah but I can see why Danny would pull the trigger. He's 29 with bad hips and coming up on a contract year. I'm more concerned with losing Crowder and Zizic which would leave Horford and Baynes as our only big men and a gaping hole at the wing when GH is on the bench. Guessing Jaylen is going to get a ton of burn this season and we'll see a lot of Tatum too.

Does it help to add another player in a year or two because Kyrie is below the max? Or does Gordon/Al put them to close to even matter?

Yabu and Semi will get a chance to earn minutes too.

8!!! I gotta sign off here you guys gonna drive me crazy. The only one who is ahead of him is the guy he played to a stand still in GSW. I'd like to see chris Paul or John wall do what Kyrie did to the warriors.

Woj is reporting IT, Crowder and Zizic on ESPN right now. No picks.

Edit: I take it back, now they added "Would also get draft picks." I can't imagine it would be the Brooklyn or Philly picks. If it is, it's too much. If it's not, I'm all aboard.
Did he say that over the phone? All the graphics attributed to him say picks would head to CLE.

Whoa. If those goes down I'd say I would be neutral overall - I think Isaiah (when healthy) alone is about as good as Kyrie, so throwing in Crowder seems like an overpay.

But what this trade would definitely do is eliminate a good deal of uncertainty - you pretty much know exactly what you are getting with Kyrie whereas on the other hand (a) you don't know how Isaiah will respond/come back from his injury; (b) whether Zizic is an NBA player; (c) how Crowder will handle a changed role; and (d) how the LAL/SAC pick will flesh out. So including some or all of those pieces simply reduces the C's uncertainty going forward and buys them another year of an All-Star point guard.

Edit: And yeah the possibility of Isaiah failing his physical does seem like a real possibility here which makes things even more complicated/interesting.

Edit 2: If the Brooklyn pick is part of this trade this is a terrible deal.

If you think Kyrie is a top 10 NBA player you need to be sent to a basketball re-education camp asap.
Agreed full stop. Maybe the most overrated player in the NBA not name Carmelo Anthony. Oh and he might finally be motivated to play some defense given that he would be playing for a contender...oh, wait...

For those saying IT is Kyrie's equal you need to factor in the Stevens effect on Kyrie.

We can debate Ainge's player evaluation skills. But he is a genius when it comes to asset management.

Danny must be insanely in love with Tatum if instead of him he gives up Zizic and the nets pick unprotected

If DA is really including the BKN pick, it means that IT's hip is toast and he's basically a throw-in/for salary purposes.

I'd like to keep the Nets pick but really, what are the chances that pick turns out to be as good as Kyrie. Gotta be well less than 50%.
Put another way, would you rather trade Tatum or the Nets pick?

Yep, now I'm completely off the wagon. I simply refuse to believe these reports about the Brooklyn pick until it happens. Danny has done almost everything right when it comes to stockpiling picks, and he's going to throw away his best asset on a trade that Cleveland almost has to make at this point? That Brooklyn pick could be a franchise changing player. If Cleveland won't take IT, Crowder, Zizic and a lesser pick, then tell them to go fuck themselves and enjoy the shitshow that is going to happen when they force Irving to come back and play for them.

Really hoping that the Nets pick is protected and these guys are all wrong. That's too much.

He is absolutely a top 10 player.
Not even close. Top 10 tough-to-guard-in-isolation does not equal top 10 player. He's average or worse for his position as a rebounder, passer, floor general and defender. To date he has been even a top 25-30 player, let alone top 10, in terms of his overall ability to impact the scoreboard in a positive way for his team (as measured by RPM or any other plus-minus rating). The Cavaliers have been atrocious when he has been asked to carry the team without LeBron.

He has also not yet shown the durability of a franchise player, having missed significant time in every season, including his one year in college.

I mean, he is still only 25, with an elite mix of handles, scoring touch and outside shooting, and some potential upside if he can stay healthy. (Curry, a somewhat similar player, didn't really blow up till age 26). I can see considering him a top 10-15 asset; and can definitely see wanting to sell high on IT for a normal-sized PG who can be part of a sweet Big 3 with Hayward and Horford. But to call him "absolutely a top 10 player" right now, based on his based on his track record to date, is pure silliness, supported by nothing but a bunch of well-chosen ESPN highlights.
