The guy is a total embarrassment. To himself and his station.
I turned it on at the gym at 6am or so and they were leading off joking around with Minihane if he had any black kids on his basketball team and if he was friends with them in a mocking tone. Business as usual!

What Twitter rampage? Did he delete his tweets?

He has done this before and he always states in one of the tweets that he's as "sober as a judge..."

Why would they fire him if it's drawing attention?  Radio ratings don't distinguish hate listeners.

There's very little evidence that his twitter episodes turn into ratings. In fact, there's plenty of evidence that they do not.

The only thing I can think of is that they're just gathering as much data as possible to win the lawsuit he'll inevitably bring when they terminate his contract. You'd have to think that if he does like a dozen of these things it'd be hard for him to win a case.

His blowup at Toucher is the most notable thing he's done since his last suspension.  It's cliched radio war 101 stuff but I don't think anyone ever went broke playing the heel.  He's not going to get fired for going right up to the line.  On a few levels this is what his management probably wants too: edgy guy radio personality.  Even with veneers and a lap band.

Pot meet kettle.

@JohnDennisWEEI: The Texas Tech "super-fan" has a history of rude behavior. If indeed he used the N-word, Marcus Smart should have punched his lights out.

It is gay panic at the DisCo today.

"WHAT IF SAM HAS A FULL HEAD OF STEAM WHILE HE'S IN THE SHOWER? WHAT IF YOU'RE TOM BRADY? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The only person with any logic on that show is Kirk Minnihane. Holy cow, Callahan is in such a lather I'm surprised he hasn't called for full castration.

I know.  On my drive in to work this morning I couldn't believe what I was listening to, and I know what they're all about, but still.....  Callahan was barely able to contain himself.  His thinly veiled homophobia oozes out his pores and through the fabric.  The only reason why I was listening was because Fred Toucher was such a loud-mouthed asshole this morning.  At least he's not a biggot.  This morning commute thing is very new to me; it looks as though I'll be doing Morning Edition a lot more.

I know this is about another show, but someone called up on T&R and said, "What if Sam is in the locker room and becomes aroused? Wouldn't that happen if you were in a woman's locker room or if a woman was in a men's locker room? Wouldn't that make people uncomfortable?" And they said, "No. And women are in the men's locker room all the time. No one cares."

The guy was completely taken aback that women were in a men's locker room. My wife worked for the Caps while she was in college and one of the first thing she told me was that she's seen the entire NHL naked.

My favorite part was where some guy called up to point out that black people are more against gay marriage than white people and Callahan incredulously replied, "That doens't mean they're anti-gay!"

Man, every night must be a huge disappointment when she sees you come to bed.

Perhaps a thread title change is in order?

I vote, "Coffee is for Closers" but I'm sure someone else will have a better suggestion.

WEEI wouldn’t say what wording Callahan used about three weeks ago on the Dennis & Callahan Morning Show. A spokesman for the station’s owner, Entercom Communications, said the incident involved an off-the-cuff remark about doughnuts that Dunkin’ did not find amusing.

Does anyone know what he actually said?

If this somehow ends up putting the nail in Dennis' coffin too, then this is great news.

I am absolutely fascinated to see what if anything Entercom does with these guys at the end of the Summer when their contract is up.

The next ratings report, which will be "Sox season related free", will be also be a big indicator.

Never fuck with the money is one of the best pieces of advice I've ever received.

When Imus's comment blew up in his face, the aspect of the story that I'll never forget was the advertising rate he was getting for WFAN. His ratings stunk, but his show had high end advertisers who liked that his demo was older and affluent so his show was very profitable (18-34 men aren't typically in the market to shop for BMW or Lexus). Once he lost his advertisers, his time at FAN was over.

I'm not sure if this alone gets D&C off of EEI, but dummy may have said one of the few things that could make that happen. As the story mentions, Dunkin Donuts was all over their show. They're also one of the biggest advertisers on NESN.

Isn't that what Chad Finn keeps saying? It's always in reference to Dennis' drunken Twitter rants but he always says they're safe because advertisers are happy. Now (surprisingly because of Callahan) that is no longer the case and they pissed off a huge advertiser. Will this cause EEI to think twice before the next round of contracts?

Normally, I'd rant about how corporations are thin-skinned and should relax (especially something like DD where it's so engrained in the culture here, that something catastrophic would need to happen to get people to stop buying their stuff -- certainly not Gerry Callahan bitching about Munchkins) and let the talent do their thing.

But this is Dennis and Callahan and I enjoy watching them squirm because they're detestable human beings. I particularly like the report that Callahan had to apologize to the DD CEO, man I would love to hear a recording of that.

And I'm sure they will get a deal.  They appeal to a very specific demographic that, while not including me or most of the frequent posters in this thread, includes a very sizable group of angry, bigoted, hopeless working class and middle class fools who are too self-absorbed and too miserable to see past their own shortcomings.  Just like those two assholes. They do have their loyalists, though.  I'm learning this now as I work days and go back and forth between them and T&R on my commute.  There are a lot of angry jerk-offs out there.

Oh, and I'm a cop.  So, I consider myself to be working class; at the very least, middle class. I have some shared experience with those listeners whom I criticize.
