Always good to name names and burn bridges on the way out. Especially since the media isn't petty at all.

Sounds like Kirk had a bad night at The Lodge.

I wonder if Kirk has Jim Rome pajamas and dreams about having his own jungle. #faketoughguy.

Edit: Wow, I've never really looked at his Twitter, between the Fred Toucher comment in his profile, ripping people in the media from other outlets, ripping others at WEEI and just being generally petty. It's pretty pathetic.

Wow is right. His profile description is literally:

One day Fred Toucher will validate me. And it will be glorious.

Krik Minihane is an adult who pretends he's a middle school girl for four hours every morning. Tomorrow he's reading page one of his burn book and we have to pretend that this is news or interesting.

That's the state of sports journalism in this town. And I'm sure that deep down Minihane is disgusted with himself that he has to resort to cheap tricks like this to get listeners.

The worst part is that Chad Finn seems like he's one of the nicest guys in the Boston media and he has to listen to this bullshit every day and then write about it in a serious manner like this all means something. How he hasn't put a gun in his mouth is a fucking miracle.

Fred's always adamant when there's a controversy that it's 100% wrong to call for people's job and hates it. Even when Big O got canned the first time, they refused to talk about it and says it's nothing to be celebrated, so this is 100% out of what he's led people to believe if true.

He also seems to hate going to Comcast in the first place and isn't on very often. Who knows though.

FWIW right around 7am Fred said (paraphrasing) "let me just say if what I'm hearing is true, I'm meeting with my lawyer today...that's all I'll say." I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is what he's referencing.

It's almost as if his words have repercussions. So fucking weird that if you act like a dick, people are going to treat you like a dick. Well, I guess that what you get for being Boston's morning bad boy.

No reference whatsoever to Alex Guerrero during the Tom interview this morning.  Not that I expected that.  But a nod to the ensuing controversy was not out of the question.

The closest thing they got to controversial was trying to get Tom to discuss whether he would allow his kids to play football (which he said he would).

Yet another race topic being discussed and, oh, what a shock! These three are all taking the side that there's no racism or prejudice to be found here. Just a bunch of PC nonsense, as always. What a coincidence.

Yes its Ray Lewis and Bomani Jones and while you can argue that these guys shouldn't be the ones talking about it they are right in these cases.

why is it a topic today? they seemed to have devoted a full hour to the topic, and was referring to columns from 2000...sounded strange to me
Ray Lewis has a book coming out (maybe it came out already?), and excerpts have been circulating, in particular the chapter that deals with the night he most-likely was involved with a murder.

I only listened to the first 35 minutes or so but I thought he came off terrible. Not very articulate in his thoughts yet the way he spoke you would think he invented the producer position.

Listened to the Deitsch podcast and I agree - Curtis came off sounding like Martin Short's tobacco lawyer from the old SNL shows, only with a Southie accent.  He just BS'd his way past any questions he wouldn't or couldn't answer.  Curtis more or less lectured that people should be willing defend themselves, but when Deitsch asked him at one point why a female sports fan in her 20's should want to listen to D&C, he had no good answer other than a weak 'Because she likes sports'.

Bomani Jones claims Cousins is treated differently (better) during his shitty play than RGIII was during his shitty play.

Whatever the point is, that's a pretty terrible example. RGIII was a Heisman winner, which carries -- unfairly or not -- an expectation of not-shitty, professional competence. Cousins is a 4th rounder and "backup QB," traditionally the most popular man on the team among fans of strugggling teams. (Michael Bishop, come on down!!!)

IIRC, Cliff Stoudt was treated better for his shitty play than Terry Bradshaw was for his.

Well your point is essentially what D&C are saying(also that the Redskins traded a whole bunch of picks to get RG3 so clearly they expected him to be their future) while Bomani Jones is saying that while it may not be racism no one as convinced him that it isn't.

Ray Lewis is saying that race was a factor in the cops tying to pin the murders on him and also a bunch of other stupid stuff like how there was no way he could have gotten in a fight with those guys since he was so much taller than them.

As I said before maybe you don't like these guys but in these particular cases the cries of racism are pretty baseless.

FWIW, T&R have been going after Lewis very hard for the past few days too.  While it mostly focuses on the stupidity he spewed in his Charlie Rose sit down, some of the ebonics-esque imitations wander a bit close to the racism line.

T&R still get the benefit of the doubt with me. Where as D&C lost that a long time ago after the METCO gorillas thing.

Their war against Ellen Degeneres continues. Does anyone in their listening audience really give a shit? Why do they keep going back to this well?

I stopped listening years ago.  I came back during Goodellgate because they were by far the most informed local media on the issue.  I have since left again, likely for good.

"Because that's not our demo." That is literally the easiest question in the world for a sports radio producer and he was either too dumb or too nervous or both to come up with the obvious answer.

A caller actually brought up a good point.  They should allow bidding for someone to fight Kirk.  I would love to see somebody get in there and beat the shit out of him.  Probably wouldn't raise as much money than a Kirk v Tanguay fight, but one can hope.

Tanguay is a clown and should not be on the radio or tv or social media, or any medium really. That said, I'd love to watch him beat the shit out of fake tough guy Minihane.

Maybe at some point Kirk will look in the mirror and realize that he's the only common denominator in all these blow-ups he has with various people. It's not a coincidence.

Heard it when I switched over during a T&R commercial break. Gerry's dismissiveness of black students' concerns -- and his insistence that football players were only getting involved to meet chicks at the protest -- was completely predictable.

Their twitter account for some reason just tweeted a picture of the inside of the Paris theater post-attack (bodies included). Don't go looking for it, I feel sick. Why the fuck would you post that?

These absolute fucking morons do you not believe the climate change exists. Further, they mock people who do believe it exists.

As if only one side of the issue is entrenched in its views.

If you question the assumption that society will benefit from what the green advocates recommend, you're ripped from limb to limb in this country.

I don't agree with D&C on most things, but on this issue I find it refreshing to hear a different view.
