Wow, I don't know much about hockey economics, but I like that deal.  I have really liked the way he plays. To my untrained eye he his good physically and has also shown that he is responsible in his defensive zone.

As much as I love him, Manchuk is a pretty obvious place to save money this offseason if they need to spend elsewhere to replace Iginla and whatnot. I could easily see a scenario where Miller + the savings and return from a Boychuk trade > Boychuk.

I see Miller's emergence as more of a threat to Adam McQuaid than to Johnny Boychuk.

Can't disagree with that. It's an easier move for less savings. Then again, I was on record stating that McQuaid's cheap deal signaled the beginning of the end for Boychuk in Boston so maybe I just have it out for the guy.
