ScarJo is almost 40. She's aged past the point of playing a character that naive.
Edit: Never mind, I thought that you were referring to a "2023 update".
Back in the day Dunst is a good call. She could project that same innocence that Adams did in that role. And agree that Amy Adams is perfect in that role and should not be recast. But Bill has always had a problem with her for some reason.
Amy Adams should never be recast out of a role. She is amazing. Although ScarJo is pretty great herself (loved JoJo Rabbit, although not sure of the accent). Haven't watched Catch Me If You Can in a while, so will be re-watching before listening.
As an aside, I recently started following this thread, and thus listening to the podcast at work. And although Bill is bad much of the time, the podcast is great and has turned me onto a bunch of movies through actual podcasts, or through references to others by Bill, Sean, or Chris. Especially pre-80's movies that I wouldn't have watched otherwise. There are so many movies that I hope they eventually cover.
I have watched most movies covered on Rewatchables, but because of the pod, in one way or another, I have watched the following this year for the first time (and re-watched many more):
All the President's Men - Great
Glengarry Glen Ross - Outstanding
Heat - just ok
Man on Fire - Pretty good
Mission Impossible 1 thorugh 6 - 1 was good, Fallout was ok, the rest were meh.
Out of Sight - Turned it off due to boredom
The Professional - meh
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Great
You Were Never Really Here - Bad
And the following are on my list for future viewing:
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Chinatown
Come and See
Shortcuts
Seven Samurai
The Game
Nobody's Fool
The Verdict
The Last Detail
Mulholland Dr.
Layer Cake
Maybe this should be left for PMs, but I am interested in other's favorites and suggestions for viewing. And maybe another thread - I would be interested in hearing/debating top 5 lists. My favorite episode was There Will Be Blood, but that is my favorite movie.
