"You know what we need to bring back? Billionaire pre-teens as protagonists. How did we ever get away from that l?.A super rich kid, with lots of toys??!? I feel like that could work!!!
I found it especially funny because earlier in the pod he said something along the lines of Tom Hanks's character lacks the trait that makes you an adult, self awareness.

Other unintentional comedy was in Alive-cast Simmons referred to actors as speaking "American" rather than spanish a couple times.

One movie left for one word movie month...my prediction is Chef because it just went live on HBO Max and there does seem to be a connection to movies that get featured on the Ringer and movies that are available on HBO Max

There is? I wish there was but I’ve noticed a lot of the time they pick a movie that’s only available for rent. I wish they did better to time their choices with what’s easily available on any streamer I already pay for. It would also be nice if Bill let them announce it ahead of time.

I don't understand why he does this. It's like belonging to a book club in which the host says to show up and then they'll announce which book will be discussed that evening.

It is an on-demand podcast. You can see what just dropped and then find the movie to watch before you listen if you prefer that.

I'm a bit more surprised that he doesn't have deal(s) with a few streamers to coordinate episodes with film availability on their platforms. If only because it could be a revenue generator ("Check out Deliverance on MGM+").

Bill, Mal, and Van get their wish granted and rewatch 'Big,' starring Tom Hanks, Elizabeth Perkins, and Robert Loggia.
I did not care for this one at all. Far too much nit picking, time spent talking about "Elizabeth Perkins: statutory rapist" and how everyone's lives going forward are broken. Which I guess was inevitable given the people involved.

So they had one word title January and none of the candidates was Airplane? They still haven't done it. Are they saving it for a special episode? Easily one of the most rewatchable comedies of Bill's lifetime.

While it would be strong in a few categories, some just wouldn't apply due to the parody nature of the movie. I agree though, it would be great to hear just because Airplane always makes me smile when quoting scenes. Bill would have fun because of how he cracks Kareem for his dry attitude on the court, and how it contrasts with this appearance.
