At least in that case I could blame Kluber rather than half the roster.I'd have felt better if he'd blasted a two-run homer, instead of chopping one softly to the opposite field and somehow coming around to score on it.
He is brutal. I haven't looked at his WAR number, but it should be around -5.Kike "Slim Chance" Hernandez
"Embedded Sox" or "Salt in the Wound?"Diekman's up? Maybe this one ain't over...
I think after next weekend series with the Yankees we will be talking about the trading deadline.About an hour from being five out of the wildcard, eleven out of first. The season is not quite over, but it's damn close. Lose tomorrow too and it probably is. They don't get their shit together by Monday after next it definitely will be.
Terrible defense. Bring back Iggy.He is brutal. I haven't looked at his WAR number, but it should be around -5.
Considering some were talking about that in spring training, that seems like a fairly safe proposition to make. And it will be just as boring.I think after next weekend series with the Yankees we will be talking about the trading deadline.
I feel like the main difference between watching cold Dalbec and cold Casas is that with Casas there's the chance for a walk.
Everyone.I was doing a small chore and missed the apparent gruesome play. Who was at fault? Yoshida? Wong? More?
Wong threw to second to try to get the runner out and Hernandez, covering the bag, did not leave it to get the ball. So 3/4 Wong on the throw, 1/4 on Hernandez for not going to get it.I was doing a small chore and missed the apparent gruesome play. Who was at fault? Yoshida? Wong? More?
Thanks.Wong threw to second to try to get the runner out and Hernandez, covering the bag, did not leave it to get the ball. So 3/4 Wong on the throw, 1/4 on Hernandez for not going to get it.
Ball ends up in CF and the runner scores.
Don't kid yourself. Tamper turns pitching trash into treasure.Diekman in. Alive!
Just to add, crappy throw home led to batter-runner going for 2B.Wong threw to second to try to get the runner out and Hernandez, covering the bag, did not leave it to get the ball. So 3/4 Wong on the throw, 1/4 on Hernandez for not going to get it.

Agreed. If they're in that position again, they're not dealing anyone off who will bring back an interesting return.Considering some were talking about that in spring training, that seems like a fairly safe proposition to make. And it will be just as boring.
Yes, Valdez threw it to the 1B side of home. It was the right instinct, but I'm not sure a good throw would have gotten the lead runner anyway. But at that point Wong could have held it if he had no throw. All said, Wong's throw wasn't on line, but it wasn't that far to the 1B side of the 2B bag. So it's not like he air-mailed it.Just to add, crappy throw home led to batter-runner going for 2B.
I feel like you have to take at lease one strike with Diekman. He wants to walk you.Very pedestrian groundout.
Wong did not do anything close to a proper step and throw, and the throw on the run predictably tailed off target.Yes, Valdez threw it to the 1B side of home. This is true.Wong did not do anything close to a proper step and throw, and the throw on the run predictably tailed off target.
And who made that throw? Infielder or outfielder? (Never mind; answered above)Just to add, crappy throw home led to batter-runner going for 2B.

St. Pete pixie dust.A six pitching inning for Jake fucking Diekman.
And Kaleb Ort got them out 1,2,3. It happened, I saw it!A six pitching inning for Jake fucking Diekman.
You know it’s bad when the Rays start trolling you. How long before John. Henry has had enough? In 2009 he wanted Tito to start winning in a more “exciting” fashion because TV ratings had dropped. The way things are hoping you’ll soon be able to buy the cheapest ticket available at Fenway and upgrade yourself to a good seat by the fifth inning.
Don't tell your neighbors without evidence. And Kaleb Ort got them out 1,2,3. It happened, I saw it!
