Cards came today. They look fantastic. I really love the Devers base card. Thank you

Whoa. I didn't get to watch live, and I have noidea my McLanahan auto was a #/25. Killer.
You should have gone with the rocks/Dbacks combo and left rays for me. You know it’s a rough break when you don’t get one card in a top loader and only two in a penny sleeve. But it’s great having all of the base because I’m not far off from completing the base set.

Cards arrived and had fun opening with the kids! Even without anything massively exciting it's exciting (though I shouldn't complain with a couple RC autos and plenty of sleeved cards in the lot)!

Option #2 was cool - got a few randoms in there like the giant bat Babe that the kids especially enjoyed.

Thanks as always @PortageeExpress - the packing was flawless as always, it must be a ton of work!

Let me know what you need. I've opened 2 boxes, 2 packs, and the option #2 singles.

Really grateful for Option 2. Wasn’t feeling so hot about the Tigers, but rolling through the doubles I lucked into was fantastic. Thanks, PE.

Cross-posting:

I dont know how this is possible, but I came across a pack of 2018 topps Chrome that I hadn't opened. And this is what I found: Ohtani Rookie card. The prices I'm seeing on ebay are all over the place. Can someone comment on it? I think its just a refractor.

Seems like ungraded, they’re going for 50-60 bucks and PSA 10s are going for a few hundred bucks.

Showed my son the recent break. He asked when you're doing an NHL one. But I'm sure he'd like an NFL one too. So consider my vote for mixing it up.

edit: Will still be in if it's baseball again too.

I think the next break will be baseball then maybe we'll find try some football. Deciding between Gypsy Queen, Allen & Ginter, and Pro Debut, unless anyone has a suggestion/request.

Allen and Ginter would be tough to break, no? Like, who gets the Angela Merkel?
I'd use random.org for everything that wasn't associated with a MLB team. Maybe randomize the slots (separately from the team draft) and just assign the Merkel, Great White Shark, etc. as they are opened.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Gypsy Queen the other day but didn't when the wife said I was getting too many cards oops.

I think about $20K for one box with 205 cards. It's pretty cool watching one of those break: Incredible baseball hits, historical autos like John Adams, etc.

On the blowout forums, they'll do a group break with a buy in of ~$350 I think. I've been tempted, but haven't joined one yet.

I’d be in for this.

For that one I think we’d all have to get a number and go one by one. Since there are so few cards and enough non-players to warrant the switch in strategy.

Or we could do an opening and a draft lottery. Whoever pulls #1 could pick whatever they wanted and so on.

This would add multiple layers of suspense. Like maybe with the 22nd pick someone opts for a Pedro over a Sandy Koufax or something.

I'd be done for 350 bucks too. But personally thats a shitload of responsibility for whoever would be running it. I'm cool with the current breaks we are doing to be honest. I'm just saying I wouldnt want to put that type of pressure on a guy to shell out 20 grand.

Topps Tier 1 would be a fun product to break that way. 3 cards per box (2 autos and a relic), 12 boxes per case. About $3,200 per case. Maybe 18 slots so everyone gets 2 cards and at least one auto.

Added bonus of you having to do many hours less sorting and shipping.

You want to go big - deal me in on whatever. The bigger the better.

Ok, that convinced me. Just tell me who to send the buy-in fee to.

Edit: how would be break it out? I dont think buy team would be fair.
I think the guys on the blowout forums who run Transcendent breaks randomize the hits and the list of participants, so everyone gets a hit and everyone has an equal shot at the big ones.

I'm going to order a Tier 1 case. I'll start a new thread with details and signups as soon as I get a chance (so don't sign up here). It'll be 18 slots with a draft of the cards after they are opened.
