7 years $12 million AAV for Panarin.

Anytime you can lock up a guy with 24 goals in 195 games for 5-6 years you have to do it.

Think he was talking about Tanev.

Veritas mentioned it as a joke, but I truly wonder if Pittsburgh thought they were getting Chris.

Tanev owes his agent more than most players... got him a 1-year deal as a UDFA for Winnipeg's stretch run in '16-'17, getting him RFA status immediately, and now is set for life after three more unremarkable years

That's a pretty creative win-win deal for Meier and the Sharks. Doug Wilson has been the best GM in the league for the past couple years

No word on Jake Gardiner yet. Would be really intriguing as a potential Krug replacement if they could get him at reasonable money. I feel like the Toronto media/fanbase hurt his reputation, but he's a really good player.

I get why you pay Panarin that kind of money, but I don't get why the Rangers do it. I guess they have all those terrible contracts ending in 2 years and a great prospect group so they can absorb it, but he doesnt feel like he fits the window. They can't sign their RFAs without moving Kreider and Namestnikov now.

Cheaper alternative to Acciari on line 4 I guess. Zero offensive upside but won't kill them in the d-zone / penalty killing. Easily buried.

Timing won't line up but I'd definitely take him on the Bruins. He was absolutely unsuited to his role as a sorta #1 defender, but using him as a 2/3 pair guy and PP specialist might be a lot better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Felger say the Bruins should save money by trading Tuukka and signing Bob?

Habs signed Aho to an offer sheet I think

$8.45 AAV, should be an instant match

Edit: I don’t think Aho signed it, Habs are just announcing they offered it. Confusing.

Weird the Habs are announcing it if it hasn't been signed. Guess Bergevin just likes flexing.

There's historically actually been a bunch of offer sheets offered but never signed and never made public. Contrary to the popular "no one ever offers offer sheets" bitching.
