Is that the worst trade in the last decade? Honestly, what at the time has been as stupid as that? The only comparison I can think of is Montreal trading for Gomez in terms of sheer "how could you possibly think this is a good idea" reaction.

That move is pure "fuck I don't wanna get fired". OEL at $7M for 6 years could easily turn into another Loui.

I’m not saying he’d make a dumb trade, but Donny should probably turn his phone off while he’s in the war room. Wow, what a pair of trades…

Final deal is Garland and OEL to Vancouver and 2021 1st round pick (9th overall), 2022 2nd round pick, 2023 7th round pick, Eriksson, Beagle and Roussel to Arizona.

Glad the Bruins stayed out of that one.

And it’ll be 8 years when he can sign it on Wednesday. The Hawks get rid of one bad defence contract, then send multiple assets to commit to a guy for a literal decade.

GM after GM falling over themselves to prove themselves who is the true king of the dumbasses. I think its Bowman, tbh. First you enable a pedophile, then you trade 2 firsts and Boqvist for a mediocre D with a reputation he doesn't deserve and then sign him to an 8 year deal at $9.5m. Immediately a top 5 bad contact for D in the league. Woweeweewah.

its essentially a top prospect and 2 likely top 15 picks for Seth Jones and moving back 12 picks in the second. I am completely incredulous at these trades. Luckily I hate all the teams that made them.

I have no idea why Columbus would make this trade.

The Flyers needed a top 6 forward that shoots the puck and Atkinson gives them that. Voracek is more expensive, is a wing that doesn't score and doesn't really like to play LW, and has gotten a reputation as a guy who mopes a ton.

I mean, they are absolutely bereft of talent after not having any pick higher than the 5th round last year and this is a great way to restock.

This is a great management strategy when you're trying to rebuild the cupboards. Even if only one or two of those second rounders hits it'll be worth it you have to hit the floor either way.

In addition to drafting Mailloux, the Canadiens are rumored to be in on Tony DeAngelo, as well as the admittedly less objectionable Chris Wideman.

Who in their right mind was rooting for that trash pit organization?

I think we know where Virtanen ends up.

Well, I guess the south is one place the fans won’t care too much about his particular brand of asshole.

He’s a piece of crap and I will think very poorly of the Hurricanes if they sign him. As for your broader assertion, as a resident in the Triangle here in NC, I vehemently disagree. Did you mean to say Southie?
