Does that make him second all-time in home runs by players wearing No. 72?

That Camarena homer has to be one of the unlikeliest homers in baseball history.

Padres came all the way back to tie the game at 8, currently in the bottom of the 8th, and Robles just robbed Cronenworth for what DO says is the 3rd time tonight (I haven't been watching the whole game).

Baseball is awesome.

Also, in more minor league news, I got let off my post behind the Arkansas Travelers 1st base dugout (best seat in the house, and I get paid to do it) early tonight and sat out in the left field stands watching Julio Rodriguez for a couple innings. His bat and speed are awesome, but he is a bit raw in the outfield.

My favorite thing about him, though? Listening to him chat with the kids in the bleachers while talking like a pirate.

Man, it would be so much fun to watch the Padres this year. Blacked out in Hawaii. Only get to see them when they play the Dodgers (on cable package) or ESPN.

Scherzer cruising through 3 innings against the Padres.

4th inning leadoff HR to Tatis.

K, HBP, Single, HBP, BB, Walk, K, Grandslam by pitcher Daniel Camerena.

Camarena in his second ever appearance in the majors. Never hit a HR at any level as far as I can see.
That was an inch off the ground too.
Pretty great call by Orsillo.
He went toe to toe with the Spanish language call (Padres radio) (when was the last time the Spanish language call and English call both took the intensity to the max?)

I just looked on Fangraphs and he has a total of 32 at bats in the previous 10 years. Just amazing.
Those must be minor league at bats. Camarena has only been in 2 mlb games after 11 years in the minors (a Yankee draftee). He was recalled yesterday.
The last time a pitcher hit a Grand slam for his first hit was 1898.

The Royals misplayed a rundown as badly as possible and the umpires rewarded them by calling a double-play on the Indians. Daniel Johnson was caught between third and home, with Cesar Hernandez on second. Hernadez went to third as Johnson ran back to third. None of the Royals were covering third. Both runners slid into the base. Johnson came off the bag. When the catcher finally arrived at third, he tagged Johnson and then Hernandez. The umpire called both runners out – as far I understand it at this point – Johnson was called out for being tagged off the base, Hernandez was called out for being on a base legally occupied by Johnson. The problem is, he tagged Johnson out first, so Hernandez had every right to occupy third base at that point and he never came off the bag.

This is the second time this year the umpires have clearly screwed up the rules in a close Royals/Indians game to the favor of KC... but @#%* the umpires, the Indians still won the first time they did it and Bobby Bradley just crushed one to right to walk it off tonight.

He’s having one of the best seasons in mlb history. He’s must-watch.
Truly mindboggling the Angels are still a bad team. If they were all healthy, Ohtani/Trout/Rendon/Walsh/Upton is an absolutely ridiculous lineup. Jo Adell seems to be playing pretty well in AAA, is he just not a prospect anymore? 18 HRs in 54 games seems pretty good.

Also, the Brewers are 32-14 since trading for Willy Adames who is hitting .297/.380/.552, 150 OPS+ during his time with the Brewers. Really looking like a pretty great trade for Milwaukee as Adames is under team control through 2024.

Ronald Acuna carted off the field after coming up short going after a Jazz Chisholm drive. Looked like a lower leg injury. Really hope it's a minor injury, Acuna's a helluva talent.

That sucks. Will now likely miss some of 2022 as well. Killer injury for the Braves.

The Yankees blow a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th to lose 8-7. Truly tragic, you hate to see it.

Jake Cronenworth has hit for the cycle while the Padres have scored in each of the first 6 innings and lead the Nats 19-8.

Jed Lowrie, only healthy in Oakland, with a walk-off bomb off of a straight 101mph from Joe Kelly Emmanuel Clase.

So, are we even sure the White Sox are actually a good team? 16-25 vs teams .500 or better. They’ve done most of their damage against the dregs of the AL Central and Baltimore. 2-7 vs the other AL division leaders, including 0-5 against Houston after last night.

Maybe not great right now, but they're supposed to get Jimenez and Robert back soon. If those two play up to their abilities, it's an entirely different story going forward.
