Was it just me or was MLBN showing a Spanish broadcast for the Dodgers game?

Pretty good broadcast at that...

And Scully on now.

Cubs in a little bit of a slump...Lost 7 of their last 8.
Apparently Maddon hasn't made it abundantly clear, he doesn't want you bunting unless you're told t

The Cubs put the first two runners on base in the bottom of the 11th but Addison Russell bounced into a double play and Jeimer Candelario popped up to end the game.

"The bunt right there, I much prefer Addison swinging right there with Candelario on deck and then Baez" Maddon said. "Addy's really been a good run producer for us. The tying run was already at second base."

Josh Bell getting called up by the Pirates. I'd assume Ben was holding out for him in a Lester trade. I'd love to know what their final offer was.

Napoli just destroyed one off the Yankees. It nearly hit the scoreboard.

Victor Martinez is still a very good hitter. Detroit got their lead back

Love seeing that enthusiasm when he made contact. Just joy, no posturing.

Fox announcers (CJ Nitkowski, very good) were saying the Pittsburgh plan was to use Bell solely as a pinch-hitter this weekend, then ship him back down. He singled and hit a slam. Nitkowski was saying you don't send that kind of hitter back down, although with the break here they probably will.

Pirates are playing Jaso and Freese at 1B; although Freese might end up at third if Kang gets suspended

His contract is a bargain compared to what Heyward is offering the team. No chance he opts out.
Heyward is on pace to hit 8 HR this year to go along with an 80 OPS+. But he is a great fielder and a solid base runner and so let's pay him 184 million dollars. . . .

For all the adulation Theo gets, this is the same dummy who signed Carl Crawford to one of the worst contracts in baseball history.

Amazing: the Cubs are now playing under .600 baseball.

I know it is almost impossible to root for the Yankees, but I want them to win a few games here in order to give the Steinbrenner family the illusion that the team can actually compete for the playoffs (even though everyone else knows they can't). I don't want to see the Yankees trade Miller and Chapman for a couple of stud prospects.

The cradle of the game.
The player number on the vintage late 70s Angels uniforms (wearing tonight) is the exact same font use on the 70s Sox clown suits. Never noticed this before.

The White Sox have been shut out three times in a row for the first time since 1968. They are 14th of 15 in the AL in runs scored, just ahead of KC and just behind NY.

Also the ending of the SF/SD game was pretty crazy...

I didn't see any of it until the 9th, so when Posey hit a HR in the top of the 10th to put SF up 6-5, I was pretty surprised at how crazy the crowd in SD was going. I am pretty sure I have never heard a crowd so happy for a likely game-winning HR by the other team.

Then when SD started the bottom of the inning with three consecutive singles to tie the score, the crowd still wasn't anywhere near as loud as for the Posey HR, and when Casilla caught a cleat on the way to delivering a pitch, stumbled off the mound, and balked in the winning run, even then the crowd was still a notch quieter than it had been for Posey in the top of the inning. I guess a lot of SF fans made the trip south...

Pirates and Nationals in a great one today, Pirates led 1-0 with two outs in the 9th when Daniel Murphy, who has sat out all weekend hurt, pinch-hit a tying HR off Melancon. Now it's still 1-1 in the 16th, Espinosa just gunned out the go-ahead run at home with an incredible relay from short center field.
