That’s amazing. The Padres are my NL team now. Yeah, Machado is a -9, but Tatis is a +11.

Can Ahmed Rosario go an "entire season" without drawing a base on balls? He's walkless in 76 plate appearances this year and has only reached ball #3 in four of his at-bats.

Yordan Alvarez has Bill Walton knees. Might be done for the season per Dusty. Sucks. Really like watching him hit.

Between the Astros and this week's Rangers stuff, Texas may be the most hated state in baseball right now. And as someone married to a Texan, I couldn't be happier.

Would you put money on the Yankees to win it all right now?
You'd be stupid to put money to win on any team in the history of MLB under this year's playoff system, especially if it ends up being in neutral field bubbles. FWIW, 538 still has NY as the AL favorites, barely over HOU (who have won 8 in a row).

I say every season that people seem to forget most of what they know about the length of the baseball season over the winter, but also keep in mind that if this was a normal season, we'd be around April 21 currently. We're learning about teams now but it's really hard to know too much about a baseball team after 3-4 weeks, even in a short season.

The baseball gods are punishing the Rangers. Another slam!
The Rangers have given up SIX slams this year.
Slam Diego, as Orsillo calls them, are the only team in history with GS in 4 straight games.

Michael Fulmer is basically tossing batting practice to the Indians tonight. It's 5-0 in the 4th. If the Indians hold on it will be their 21st straight win against the Tigers. A weekend sweep will tie the all-time record for consecutive wins against an opponent (Baltimore beat KC in 23 straight, 1969-70).

Plutko'd! I shouldn't have said anything... Tigers up 7-5 as Plutko records only 1 out the second time through the order.

Cleveland's Triston McKenzie with the best debut by a 1st round pitcher this week. He held the Tigers to 1 run on 2 hits through 6 innings with 10 K's, and he only needed 80 pitches. His only mistake was a hanging changeup that this former AA teammate Willi Castro put in the right-field seats. The Indians finally came through with two out in the 6th, so he exits with a 4-1 lead. It was the most strikeouts by a Cleveland pitcher in his MLB debut since Luis Tiant in 1964.

Workman's first pitch in a Phillies uniform was a slightly hanging curve drilled for a backbreaking 2-run double.

Rays walk off in 10th 2-1, after losing 6-5 in 10th yesterday. As goofy as it is, I kind of like just getting the games wrapped up when they go to extras. If you’re going to go the gimmicky route, though, it would be more exciting to start the inning with bases loaded. Wider distribution of scoring outcomes and cuts down on IBBs.

I’m not a big fan of the competitive balance round in the draft, but Cleveland hit a homerun with the McKenzie pick.

Rays in another 1 run game against Jays. Win 5-4.
They’re working hard while NYY rest and set up their rotation to get Cole a higher % of regular season starts.
