Unfortunately that ugly 3-1 slider was a strike. Team just keeps stranding runners all over the place the past week or two.

Hear, hear!
Sometimes the entitledness of Sox fans is embarrassing.
I think it’s less entitled fans and more that we are getting a very fun, and unexpected team this year. Most figured middle of the pack at best.

But somehow we are getting a 2013 performance, and when the rival teams all improved quite a bit at the deadline - the Sox didn’t. It just sucks as a fan, and now we have a team that looks a little lost and has very identifiable holes while our rivals are playing good ball.

Hopefully they can figure out what’s going on - but they’ve been playing not great since before the all star break. Then they have a great series like they did against the Yankees and you think they’re good.

Just still hard to know what this team is. We can see the holes though.

Wiscansin, by way of Attleboro
Cora needs to preach louder about his whole contact being necessary credo. They can't hear him in the middle and bottom of the lineup.

Not quite the immortal words of legend Shea Hillenbrand, but it does feel like the ship is listing badly, if not full-on sinking yet.

Can we please pump the brakes on “The Sox didn’t improve at the deadline”? We added a 900 OPS hitter.

I truly don't think it counts if they guy isn't actually playing. This was a HUGE series and we needed all hands on deck. Trading for someone without a position to play, who is weeks away from even starting rehab assignments, does not count as "adding a 900 ops hitter"

To be fair, he had a hot month. We don’t know when he will join the team or where he will play. A lot less exciting than what’s going on with Rizzo.

This would be the most frustrating loss of the year (not most painful). Quick 3-0 leads is like 75% win expectancy.

when the White Sox play here do they still have the “DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER” signs behind home plate?

Rizzo is hitting against a decimated Marlin team owned by a MFY.
Yes, but he’s performing right after being acquired. That’s exciting and likely provides a morale boost.

Schwarber may show up mid august and hit bombs daily, but who knows where the Sox are in the standings by then.

It would be nice to clear all 4 pitcher's spots this inning, but it isn't looking good.
