Ryan Allen at the moment, but I assume they will fix that in the next two weeks. Still, it seems likely it will be someone that has a serious amount of catching up to do.So we have no backup QB?
Oh shit, tell Belichick quickly!!!Holy shit. I hope he is wrong. Jimmy G is needed on this team until the end of the season.
We have a practice squad guy. There could be another trade. Let's wait until deadline. So we have no backup QB?.
I guess there’s value in making sure Brady performs well and lasts half the season?I. Just. Don't. Understand. How is this better than what they could have gotten in the offseason?
Who knows how accurate that was? Jimmy G is a great backup but he's going to be due a significant raise, that clearly factored into their thinking. That and Brady's apparent lifetime supply of avocados. If it really is only a 2nd rounder....I have no idea what BB is doing. He needs defensive help this year and it was reported that he could have got at least one first rounder in this past draft.
I live in San Francisco; I know it will be a high 2nd rounder, but still super curious.
Well, maybe they liked 2018 better than 2017? And probably Cleveland wasn't really offering what they were reported to be offering in the off season. So either
#1 - none of the offers supposedly on the table were fake news
#2 - BB has more confidence in Brady/Oline after 8 weeks and felt confient in trading JG
#3 - JG was causing issues in the locker room
#4 - They realized they wouldn't be able to retain him now and decided to get *something* for him.
Have to assume they could have gotten a 2nd rounder in 2018 from SF this offseason...
They probably would not have gotten more than a 2nd rounder if they franchised Jimmy. Now they can franchise ButlerI. Just. Don't. Understand. How is this better than what they could have gotten in the offseason?
If you like 2018 better than 2017, take the 2017 first and trade it back into 2018 for a first plus...Well, maybe they liked 2018 better than 2017? And probably Cleveland wasn't really offering what they were reported to be offering in the off season.
Also, if you're going to trade for a 2018 pick, doing it with an 0-8 team is a lot safer than in the preseason when you can't be quite sure whether they will be good or not.
I feel like I have read this post verbatim for years.I normally just blindly trust BB & Co, but I can't for the life of me figure out why this makes any sense?
To be clear, last offseason when there was reportedly a first rounder plus on the table. They probably would not have gotten more than a 2nd rounder if they franchised Jimmy. Now they can franchise Butler
