Wow, an actual Black Sunday firing! Some stragglers among the players were probably still in the building.

Seems like a genuinely nice guy, and hope things work out in his next job but this was 100% the right move.
Honestly, there was a lot he did wrong, but he's also a franchise legend and hope we can remember that.

If they clean house (meaning Wolf is gone) then I love this. If they keep Wolf then I don’t mind but it’s still a half measure

Hopefully Wolf is a formality. Need a fresh start with a VP of NFL Football ops hiring a GM who hires a HC.

Can’t fucking believe they let him cost them the first pick.
I get it, but he fucking played Joe Milton all game. That's what he should have done.

Milton just balled out.

Vrabel already spotted at Logan

Absolutely, he wasn't good at his new job and didn't show enough to say he'd figure it out next year so the firing makes sense. But the screwup is on the Krafts more than Mayo, they never should have given him the job.

This. If they keep Wolf…my god.

The entire operation should start over. No front office or coaches should be retained

Now fire Wolf make Highsmith the GM and hire Vrabel. Then I'll feel so much better about this loss. All you folks who said Kraft didn't have the guts to fire Mayo, I'm waiting to read your apologies.

That win must have pissed off the Krafts because I can't believe it was that fast.

Mayo was in over his head. He failed. Time to actually hire people.

It is not surprising this was the outcome. I am glad Kraft got rid of him, but what a buffoon for hiring a guy who had never served as a true coordinator at any level, never head coached at any level, and never run any kind of program.

hire Vrabel. Bring in Jon Robinson or someone from the Licht tree.

There should be no one who had any sort of say kept from the previous administration. Burn it to the ground and start over

Smart, engaging guy who clearly knows a ton about football.

He also seemed to have zero plan on how to be a successful NFL head coach. Seemed to be winging it from week to week with no guiding strategic principles.

He should rebuild his career, become a coordinator who calls plays, and give it another try. This year was not his time and he was clearly overwhelmed.

And say what you want on Kraft, he moved very fast on what was likely a hard decision for him. They had planned this for years, but it blew up, and he made the move.

Any chance they told him to lose today and he wouldn’t?

Otherwise not doing last week is insanely bad management
