Jaylen Brown continues to solidify his hold as my favorite current Celtic. He’s probably not the team’s best player, it with Mookie gone, he could be the guy the city just galls in love with.
Active Berkeley alum. They were just hangin around?
My Bad.
This was MJ's response.Jaylen is awesome. Such a great character and the skills are catching up to his character as well. Rooting for guys like him is what makes sports fun for me.
Meanwhile, probably worth a separate thread but god forbid a guy like MJ step up and join in stuff like this. All we have are athletes who post some thoughts and prayers on twitter but don’t do much else. Guys like Jaylen who walk the walk are too few and far between.
Just imagine if you’d have guys with greater visibility and following like MJ leading the charge as well. LeBron, to his credit, seems to be more active on this front. But I really wish MJ would step up for once here. When he talks, people listen, as we just saw with that documentary. This goes the same for famous white athletes as well.
I have high standards for the pro jerseys I wear. I've had a Russell, Bird, KG, and a Brady. I've got only one current Celtic, Jaylen Brown.Do any of the big box stores that are open currently carry Jaylen Brown jerseys? I am overdue for one.
Gronk?I'm so damn proud of Jaylen Brown. Is there anyone else in US team sports who has the sport cred and off the field Renaissance man cred of JB?
Only took 25 years for MJ to sort of become a caring human and not a logo. Great!
Nike took a stand first, so it was ok for MJ to speak outOnly took 25 years for MJ to sort of become a caring human and not a logo. Great!
Kareem, Jalen, and so many others don't need this guy's "static"... when he's all in... he'll let us know, or maybe Nike will.
I'm sort of embarassed that I got it immediatelyLol, all good man. Never said it was a good joke,
Don't be; solid tune on an otherwise not great album.I'm sort of embarassed that I got it immediately
I vote for forever.I love Jaylen so much. I'm so happy he's going to be a Celtic for a long, long time.

Not just the awareness, I had no idea he could physically make that pass. The list of non-PGs who can consistently thrown a long distance bounce pass like that is very small, it was like watching Kemba thrown down a windmill dunk.
I've stopped trying to project a hypothetical upside for Jaylen. Do I think he can be a primary ballhandling option/initiator of the offense in the half court? No, not really. But would I be totally surprised if he hits his age 25 season and his passing and awareness have leveled up to that point? Again, not really. His ball-handling, strength, finishing skills, body control, etc etc etc have improved so much that I'm just at the point of sitting back and waiting for what's next (while enjoying the present immensely, of course). He has also played with the highest consistent motor since the games started back up. He's all over the floor on both ends, even in the games when a lot of other guys were clearly not fully engaged.
He's still a work in progress in many ways, which is really encouraging to me. The mistakes are fewer, decisions are better, shot is better, confidence is up, and explosiveness is in full view of everyone. And there seems to still be a decent amount of upside. I'm stoked.
Cross posting from the Tatum thread.Meanwhile, JB with the Remedy is sitting at 20.3/6.4/2.1/1.1/0.4, at 38.2/54.3/72.4, and his improvement in ball-handling, and finishing, particularly with the left, has been a revelation that has made him an dangerous weapon when paired with his first step. Also a great, versatile defender.
Great sequence but I could really do without an unnecessary 360 jam. Those are ticking time bombs for knees.
Agree, but if you watch Jaylen in general, he does a good job landing under control when he goes up. I think he earned himself one there.Great sequence but I could really do without an unnecessary 360 jam. Those are ticking time bombs for knees.
Psst...it's JaylenI have rooted for a lot of great Boston athletes in my life. I will never forget Pedro's appointment watching starts. Manny and Ortiz back to back. Tom Brady, nuf said. Paul Pierce and KG! Protect the Civic! Even Isaiah Thomas and Brad Stevens willing me back to the Celtics. Through all that, I think I am proudest to call myself a fan of the team that employs Jalen Brown.
Haha, fat fingers, auto correct whatever mistake. Will leave it incorrect for the ridicule it deserves. My feelings remain the same.Psst...it's Jaylen
Hes awesome. I love his mantra (FCHWPO) and the speech he gave at Harvard was fantastic. Not to mention driving 16 hours and organizing a peaceful protest. This dude is going to be a Senator someday. I’d follow him anywhere.
If the way he plays is any indication, the answer is, "Yes, like a gazelle."What an article and what a person!
I can't wait to vote for him. Can he run for everything?
