Pretty impressive, as I would think they'd usually go with an older player.

It is impressive and awesome for him individually but I can't help but wonder if this will have a negative impact on his game.

Holy shit. In his 3rd year, no less. That's some respect for his IQ and EQ from his peers.

Also, sweet graphic for the occasion. All he needs is the full-length leather coat to go full Morpheus.

The networkers, like Brown, do though. Otherwise I agree that for most players they consider it a thankless job, especially come CBA time.

Isn't this a job most players don't want?
Maybe. On the other hand, these days, if ability to force a trade years before your contract is up is the truest measure of player empowerment in all of pro sports, who knows what being at the forefront of this stuff is worth.

Jaylen is a thinker. He is smart. I respect the hell out of him as a person. Just seems he could benefit from not having so many things in his head. Yes, armchair psychology.

Flip side: some of these guys who live in their head need as many distractions as possible. I could see someone like Jaylen performing better at the free throw line when he isn't thinking about his shot opposed to when he is.

Could be - I'll take the optimistic view for the time being I suppose.

For the record, I think it is nothing, and I'm glad to know that - at least to some degree - he is somewhat popular. I recognize that it is not a popularity contest, but still.

That said, I did get a nasty Tony Clark flashback. I still don't understand how that guy went from being an All Star (ok yes, from the Tigers - but still) to an absolute shell of a baseball player so quickly.
