64th on my board and someone I see who could be a quality starter (9th to 16th best center as a range).

Love this pick. He was around 80 on the CBB.

100981

I didn't edit some of my initial notes out.

It feels like this draft has been "Drake, here are your new best friends who will grow with you."

Love this pick. He has the ability to anchor that OL for years to come. Needs a little polish and coaching but he’s a talented player

My favorite pick so far (and favorite non-Maye pick in forever). His highlight reels are fabulous, fills a need, and was a BPA.

I wanted him when the Pats second third-rounder first came up, but they traded down twice and still landed him. Good job, Elliot.

Agree on everything but the bolded :). Probably for another thread but everything that happens, good or bad, it’s on Vrabel not the Mush.

Why are you being so negative about Woolf? If it's a terrible pick then you and his detractors immediately place blame on Wolf. If the pick is acceptable in your mind, why not at least go half way and say it's a collaborative effort between Wolf and Vrable? I mean I think Vrable gives him a list of players or a type of player that he would like. Wolf then executes the plan. At the very least, I'm sure Vrable isn't on the phone with the other GMS negotiating the finer details of the trades. I get it you hate Wolf and want him blasted to the sun like yesterday, but that ain't happening for awhile. The least you can do is give Wolf at least a tiny medium of credit. He hasn't drafted 2 punters, a kicker or a long snapper yet

Im negative about his past because it was appallingly bad at everything non Maye and he’s simultaneously been kind of a dick about it (imho).

My comment was genuinely to say I don’t think his decisions have anything of consequence to do with what’s happening anymore. He could eat a box of exlax and not fart without Vrabels permission. If this works out it’s Vrabel but if it sucks it’s Vrabel too, that’s all I meant.

It’s true though - my bias is showing :) I like what’s happening and won’t focus too much on credit.

Though... If Wallace locks down the swing tackle spot, Robinson starts at LG and Polk contributes under a new staff... All very possible... He's vindicated.

I don't want to hijack this thread so this will be my last post on subject. Wasn't a lot of Bill's Buddies still involved with the draft last year? I remember reading on here that Wolf was trying to implement a new scoring system for rating the draft board but that it wasn't able to be fully used last year? Well if he implemented it for this draft then it's been pretty successful, eh?
Edit. Just as I type this I jinxed myself. The Pats just took a kicker.

Thats true, and not impossible, and I’m hoping for it.

I think Wolf deserves more credit than Vrabel for manipulating the board. YMMV
Hmmmm, that’s good point: even in my world Vrabels not operating at that level.

Fair enough, and like I said Im overall pleased with what’s happening and its got to be some working collaboration so I’ll work to stow the bias : )

I was hoping Strange would end up being a starter at C so that he wouldn’t be another 1R bust. This might mean that isn’t going to happen

100 percent.

Its very possible (probable) that vrabel is the architech and wolfe is just there to help execute the plan.

My theory was that was supposed to be the setup with mayo too but mayo kinda flaked on that part of the job. But thats just me tea leaf reading.

But trading judon for a 3rd then turning that 3rd into a center, edge and a 4th next year is some good business and totally to wolfe's credit

I was just talking to a buddy of mine and he mentioned that his stepson played football in high school with Wilson. Apparently Wilson has been a Pats fan for many years and is very excited about being drafted by them. They also said that he is a really good human being, so there’s that.
