If the playoffs started tomorrow I’m swapping Smart and Jaylen in the starting lineup, Smart first guy off the bench, Hayward like 15-20 minutes. Brown absolutely needs big time minutes if this team is going anywhere.
If the playoffs start tomorrow, Hayward would be lucky to play any meaningful minutes. But they don't start for 3 months.

I don't mind Brown coming off the bench, because if you put him in the lineup with Morris/Kyrie/Horford/Tatum, there aren't enough shots to go around. I think 15-20 minutes is too much for GH in the playoffs. Frankly, I'm not sure you need GH in the playoffs at all, when the time comes, except in garbage time. Last year, the C's basically played a 7 man rotation in the playoffs, and they were fine. Rozier/Brown/Baynes off the bench is all they really need. Just let Brown play MORE minutes.

Hayward stinks but Brad isn’t going to bench him in the playoffs even if this is all he ends up being this season. Hopefully that’s not the case.

Official scorer owes Al at least one more block. He had a block early in the 3rd that they did not give him, and it was clear as day.

I could totally see Gordo in the good guy Bill Walton six man role.

Once again, Jaylen is on fucking fire, and you'd think they'd find a way to get him a look. Nope, instead, they've run about 5-6 straight possessions completely away from his side of the floor. I think I can count on one hand the number of times the C's have used an off-the ball screen, to free a guy for a catch and shoot.

If Hayward isn't willing to fire up the easiest non-layup in his arsenal, he shouldn't be playing. He's usually so buttery from mid-range, 70% this season
I think he normally is but he is 1-6 from the field tonight so he decided to pass the ball on.

This D'Angelo Russell story is going to be a thing if he isn't hurt or sick. A similar situation with the Celtics would cause our servers to melt into a singularity.

Without Kyrie, we had Tatum and Hayward combine for 4 of 15, and we beat one of the hottest teams in NBA since early December.

Pacers drilled tonight by Warriors, so we pick up a game there. Nice night.

For you out of towners, Scal just said this is only the 9th time in the NBA since 2000 that a team has had 16 blocks and 11 steals in the same game.

Did he sit himself or get benched? I didnt hear anything other than Scal's offhand comment about sitting off by himself.

I heard Scal and Mike talking about it but nothing more. Seems odd for a guy who is the best player on the team and a presumed all star not to be out there when the game was still relatively close.

The C's had 56 points in the paint, and yet, they only managed to get 10 foul shots (Nets had 16, so the disparity wasn't horrible).

I think the average NBA team gets like 23 free throw attempts per game. The C's have what, 24 in their last two games? Nothing like a little HOME COOKIN!! from those refs, huh?

How about 3 weeks or so off for Hayward to see if it helps the injury? Only last week, he admitted he still wasn't back, which might be code for there still being physical issues with the ankle: https://www.boston.com/sports/boston-celtics/2019/01/17/gordon-hayward-celtics-injury-rehab-update
That doesn't say there's been a setback, just that he's not back yet. And again, he wasn't expected to be.

He only played 20 minutes tonight, and that was without Kyrie available.
