I know there was some discussion three or four years ago about launching an ITP site for basketball but I don't think it ever got off the ground. Anyway, it seems there's a handful of really knowledgable basketball aficionados here and I wanted to know if there's any interest in building a site similar to ITP.

Since the initial discussion three/four years ago, there are now several sites that use film and other devices to break down Xs and Os for the gen pop. But, there still seems to be a market for educating the common fan on the basics of how basketball is played and how it functions in a more advanced state at the collegiate level and professional level.

I could get go into more detail of how I would envision such a site but I just wanted to gage interest first.

Does SoSH want to go there? You could PM me, too. If there's enough interest, I'm sure it's worth reaching out to the editors at ITP or SOSH.com.

Talk about it has been more recent than three or four years ago. Some of us periodically talk about putting something together, and we've had fairly serious discussions here and there, but doing it as a "SoSH thing" has been for one reason or another a nonstarter for enough folks to not chase it too much.

I'm in the process of developing a media platform for other uses, mostly around podcasts, and have been thinking about doing something basketball-related with it, but it's probably a next-season-at-the-earliest prospect.

Were you part of the group with soxfan121 and Nip who I was speaking to last summer about starting this up?

I've received PMs suggesting as much. And I don't want to rock the boat. I understand that the .com site has taken away from the main board and I understand some feel the same would happen here.
