You can already control the old Apple TV with an iPhone. I doubt they'll remove that.

Right, but as a gaming controller is a completely different case.

Not buying unless there's Mr. Skin integration.

Yes, I have the AppleTV and do that sometimes, but i) it bugs me when I lose my remotes; ii) my AppleTV is in the guest room and I don't want to have to give my non-iPhone-using guests my iPhone just for them to use the device.

I really hope they release a real game controller for this.

Maybe it'll have support for the ones they already sell for iPhone/iPad that connect via Bluetooth?

AppleTV remote is the worst invention ever. It's like a magnet for the cracks in the couch.

Star Wars game? I'm in.

Opening the ATV up to developers is HUGE for the platform.

Just open the store and take my money, please.

I admittedly lose my Apple TV remote all the time too. Its curved shape seems to make it slide right between cushions or under things.

Maybe it's just me but it seems tedious to try to do shopping on a TV like that. Wouldn't it be 5x faster on an iPad?

Happens to me all the time with my Apple TV remote, my Amazon FireStick remote, and my old MacBook remote which works as a substitute Apple TV remote. So annoying.

Is that 60 FPS feed for MLB.tv unique to Apple TV? Or does it already stream to PC or other platforms at 60 fps?

No optical audio out anymore? I don't use it, but it seems shitty to lose it.

32 GB base storage on this and the iPad Pro. Too much to hope they'll do that on the phone too?

I liked that "Volume Control" was one of the features of the Apple TV remote. A great feature that was on every single TV remote until Apple TV came around.

I want the iPad Pro for my design business. That's a huge thing for us freelancers who go visit clients and need to make quick on-the-fly changes without lugging around a Macbook Pro and mouse.
Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw that, I can finally leave the MBP at home when I need to meet clients. I'm actually considering two iPads for the first time (a Mini to serve as my reader since I really don't want to be using the iPad Pro to read/relax).

I've had plenty of other remotes (DVD players, etc) that aren't universal.

Silver, Space Gray, Ugly and Uglier.

Come on Phil, tell me if the screen will break!

We invented multitouch by buying a smaller company that invented multitouch.

They should've made the gold one with a black face when they added "rose gold"

Being able to "right click" and do quick functions with an app without really launching the app seems like a great shortcut.

Can't wait until some nerd on YouTube (probably paid by Samsung) tries to "3DTouch" their phone and end up breaking the glass screen in their hand and bending it with their finger turning purple from the pressure.

But will be incredibly annoying when you can't customize what you want to have the actions be as it'll be preloaded by default without user adaptions I'm sure.

All the added APIs and stuff for force touch explains why they haven't released new iOS 9 beta builds in ages. I'm sure they didn't want anyone seeing what they had planned for "3D touch".

Did they talk about performance with games with Apple TV? They keep mentioning "console class" GPU

I had to step out during the end of Apple TV
